Head Coach: Larry Merkel Larry has been the head coach at St. X since 1978. In that time he has qualified to the state meet numerous times and has won it all twice in the last three years. He teaches English and is currently working on a novel. |

Mike Dehring Mike is a St. X grad (‘88) who returned to teach English. He is passionately involved in St. X athletics, running with the team during both the cross country and track seasons. A fiery speaker and film aficionado. |

Dave Eby Dave teaches religion and is moderator of Student Council. He has been coaching off and on since 1987. He ran cross country at Elder under Coach Wendling. He is the voice of the Bombers. Truly a raconteur extraordinaire. |

Doug PelzelDoug is a St. X grad (‘87) who has been with the team for four years now. He and Dave Eby won the Cincinnati Blue Chip for Cable TV. No one really knows where Doug works, but rumor has it he is heavily involved in the film industry. |

Gil Wendling
Gil teaches history and is a world traveler. He is also the moderator for the National Honors Society. He has been coaching at St. Xavier since 1980. Prior to that he coached at Elder and lead the team to a state championship in 1973. He is a purveyor of home-spun wisdom. |

Dan Fritz
Dan Fritz, a 1999 St. Xavier grad, is the newest addition to the coaching staff. He was a member of the 1998 state championship team, and has just graduated from Florida State University. He is currently studying at Miami (Ohio). |
