*All Style, No Content
All Style, No Content is what I chose to name this site because I feel it describes me as a writer. As you'll notice from reading my journal, it is not as though much necessarily happens in my life (I've come to realize that not much actually happens in most people's lives, at least throughout the majority of them). Mostly I write about things I'm thinking, sometimes silly things. These thoughts would not be nearly so impressive or meaningful, at least to me, if I did not have the ability to express them with clarity and beauty (well, I try my best...).
As a writer, I've often thought to myself that if only -IF ONLY- I could come up with some sort of a plot, I could write an amazing book. I've got the style, I just need the content. I hope that through my writing on this site I will develop some material that I might be able to use in the future.
*A word about this layout
This has been one of the more tricky layouts for me to develop, and consequently there are bugs that I have no idea how to work out. Thus, there are a couple of things you should be aware of when navigating around this site:
- The blue column in which the text you're reading is situated is an iframe. I had to search a bit to find a code that would allow the iframe to resize automatically to fit the length of various pages. However, the code is a little bit buggy. If you click a link that makes the content of this column (iframe) change, you may find that the frame is either too long for the new page content, or too short (in which case it will have a scroll bar). This can sometimes be rememdied by refreshing the page (if not, suck it up and deal with the ugly scoll bars). :P
- In order to view the page properly, you may have to allow some blocked content. On my browser when I was designing the layout, if I didn't allow the blocked content the iframe wouldn't resize (and would only be about 100 px in height). :P
- If you're viewing this in Internet Explorer, you will probably not be able to see the content of the calendar properly. As I said under "Welcome", this site is best viewed in Mozilla. My boyfriend always lectures me about how we should all switch over to Mozilla anyway because it really cuts down on the amount of spam and ad crap that infects your computer, so maybe think about switching if you're not on it already.
- If you find any other problems that maybe I'm just not seeing in my browser at home, please PLEASE leave me a message about them so I can try to fix things!!
