Program Content and Teaching/Learning Approaches

The Kindergarten program is designed to help children broaden their base of information, form concepts, acquire foundation skills and positive attitudes to learning, and begin to develop their abilities and talents in a wide range of areas. It is also designed to prepare children for success in Grades 1 to 8 later in their education.

The knowledge, skills, and attitudes that the program should help children develop are outlined in the learning expectations at the end of this document. Programs and procedures are consistent with these expectations, which children are expected to achieve at the end of Kindergarten. The American Pacific International Kindergarten Board will decide how the expectations can best be achieved within the total Kindergarten program offered.
