If you’re looking for a car to conquer the world in, then look no further than the new Subaru B11S. Whether you’re driving in the rush hour in Tokyo, ascending the steep curves of the French Alps, cruising along the endless highways of the USA, or exploring in the burning heat of the Australian outback, you will always be travelling comfortably and in style.

Its elegant exterior and power revive memories of the classic Gran Turismos, but with the added space and features that Subaru customers have come to appreciate.

The Subaru B11S, quite simply, is a classic concept reinvented. A car that’s been purposefully designed throughout and yet still offers surprising functionality. One could almost describe it as a “Gran Utility Turismo”.
This car perfectly sums up Subaru’s future - technically innovative and demanding, just like the aircraft industry, where everything started for Subaru half a century ago. Versatile and functional in its interior like all Subaru cars. Individual, innovative and courageous like Subaru itself.

B for Boxer, 11 for premium class, S for Sportive, this is a car that combines attractive design, outstanding technology and impressive performance.
The design demonstrates Subaru's future design direction. A forceful, centrally arranged front design, seen for the very first time in the B11S, is its main distinguishing feature. Inspired by jet intakes, the look reflects the advanced technology within the car and reminds us of Subaru’s origins as an aircraft company.

4 doors, a novel opening mechanism and the clever exclusion of a B-pillar mean that all passengers can board comfortably. If you need more space, the back seats easily fold away to transform the boot into a multi-functional surface. The frosted glass roof will protect you from the sun, while maintaining comfortable mood lighting within the car. It can be opened using a system inspired by Japanese umbrellas. Open it up and you can bathe yourself fully in your surroundings, whichever part of the world you happen to be in.

The Far Eastern influence continues inside the car’s interior. Seats are held in blue leather while surfaces are a beautiful metallic white. Whilst the all round High-grade materials, combined with aluminium details, result in a technical look that found its inspiration in cockpit design.

Its marked fenders are testament to Subaru’s long established permanent all wheel drive, which always guarantees a perfectly balanced drive. 21 inch aluminium rims further support a car of exceptional dimensions. The electro-hydraulic 5 speed-automatic transmission reflects its sportive nature, just like its 6- cylinder, horizontally opposed boxer engine. With 3 litres capacity and twin turbo charge, which develop a power of 400 HP, the Subaru B11S will delight you.

A new star is rising on Subaru’s horizon.
Versatile, comfortable and powerful, the world is in your hands in the B11S.

What Edmunds has to say about the B11S:

What Is It?
Subaru B11S

What's Special About It?
Intended as a far-reaching look into Subaru's future styling direction, the B11S is a high-performance four-door coupe that uses dramatic styling and Subaru's all-wheel-drive technology to create an eye-catching yet still fully functional concept. The unusual front-end treatment was designed to replicate the air inlet of a jet engine, a design cue that harkens back to the company's historical involvement with aircraft development. The door design is similar to the current Mazda RX-8, with both doors opening from the middle to facilitate entry to both rows of seats. A frosted glass roof further promotes the feeling of spaciousness within the cabin while traditional Japanese decor permeates the rest of the interior.

The drive train is an early prototype of a twin-turbo, horizontally opposed six-cylinder that achieves a maximum output of 394 horsepower and 398 pound-feet of torque. A five-speed automatic transmission sends power to an all-wheel-drive system with variable torque distribution for maximum control under all conditions.

Why Should You Care?
The B11S is a strong sign that Subaru's current line-up of boxy four-doors could be in for some big changes in the future. Although you're not likely to see anything even remotely like the B11S wearing a Subaru badge anytime soon, be prepared for some drastically different Subaru's before the end of the decade.
