THE LOSER
by Subhajit Ghosh

Lofty ideals I set myself
whenever I falter
foolishly believin' a new dawn
will usher in a new transformation
make me more resolute
still nothing seems to change
ever planning, ever dreaming
mere mortal
always fallin' prey to temptations
A weakling
I call myself
unable to hold on to my beliefs
imbecility breeds vacillation
and finally submission
and creates frustration
and unhappiness
ruins many an evenings
optimism makes me take pledge anew
and the above is repeated again
adinfinitum.
