My Friends:

I have been lucky. I have had so many good friends. I always feel proud to have such beautiful and lovely friends. My friends have always stood beside me in times of distress and have co-operated with me in every possible way to make me happy and successful. I have learnt a lot from my friends both academically, professionally and otherwise. I have found that my friends have always shared a special relationship with me. They have stood by me in times of distress and helped in whatever way possible. I have come across people during various stages of my academic and professional periods. Some have come close to me and we have become friends. Even though we have parted ways physically with many of them we still share a common bond. They have left deep marks in my mind and we still correspond with each other in various modes.

What I've learnt
I have learnt that friends need not be alike. Friends need to have  similarities among them and also differences.
They need not look at each other all the time. But they should be able to look in the same direction.
True friends are hard to come by, and only a few among them truly stand out from the rest to be your best friend.
Sometimes the best and most used part of a friend is the shoulder he or she lends you.
Nothing ever sounds funny, ridiculous or strange to a true friend.
Sometimes, a hug and a kind word from a best friend is the only thing that helps get you through the day.
Sometimes a small gesture and a few moments of togetherness or a small chat over a modest luncheon go a long way in making the friend happy and contented. And a small gesture of refusal hurts a lot where it hurts the most (the heart).
A Special Note : This page is going to change shortly, as I have been disillusioned (about my friendship), by some of my so-called(!) friends recently.

I find it worthwhile to mention the names of a few very close friends of mine who have been a constant support and inspiration for me. If you consider yourself to be a friend of mine and don't see your name here, I am sorry for that. I think you have not contacted me for a very long time and hence I might have missed you. Just drop in a line and we would revive our friendship with all the fervour. In case, you are close to my heart and still don't find your name here, I think we need to be a little closer. So lets work on it.

Paromita Bhowmik : My friendship with her is really strange. We first got in touch through e-mail. She was just sending me a message from a common friend. And then we started exchanging mails. I met her for the first time in April 2000. Since then we have exchanged numerous mails and met a few times. She writes really well. Her mails are always very encouraging. Sorry Paromita, I haven't been writing to you nowadays, as I am very much tied up. Please don't get angry.

Dolonchampa Sengupta : Again my friend at the University. Now a full fledged housewife. Currently staying at Haldia. Haven't met for a long time. Dolon if you are reading this send me a mail.

Suman Pal : My friend, philosopher and guide. We met at a exam hall while we were appearing for  a written test for a job. Both of us got the job at the same place in the same department. Now he has left the company and yet we meet almost every week at least once over dinner. Suman I want you to be by my side.

Santanu Ghosh : Again my friend at my workplace. A nice, fun-filled, frothy gentleman who is always bubbling. Reminds me of a glassful of beer.

Sasanka Maity : My Unversity friend. We lost touch and then we met again last January. Now we meet quite frequently. A full-fledged gentelman.

Sharat Karnad : Another friend at my workplace. A wonderful singer and swinger (pun intended). Very close to my heart. Lovely person who can bring life to any party.

Meera Uchil : Friend at workplace. Nice lady. Good to be with. We can spend hours on end chatting.

My Best Friend : Closest to my heart. Can't explain my relationship with her. We became close friends when we went on a picnic at the Kelwa Beach in Nov 2K. Since then, we have been sharing a special bond. Can't think of a day without her around. We have many things in common.  My favorite line to describe her is  (no I won't tell u that) and (I won't tell u this either). I want you to be beside me as long as I live. Let our bond grow to heights  reached never before and lets take a pledge that we would be together, come what may. ( Sorry I had to remove this name on special requests )

Rajiv Sawant : A nice friend of mine with whom I find lots of things in common.

Liggy Alex : Her actual name is  Lissy Alex. But I call her Liggy. We share a special bond. A bubbly lady. A must-be-with friend in any party. A very caring and friendly person. One of those few people around who makes her presence felt wherever she goes. And I miss her when she's not around. But beware !!! When she pinches, it aches for half an hour. Can someone please tell this to her??

Pranay Sinha : Another friend at my workplace. Again hat's off to his technical knowledge. An Expert in Java and is always beside me helping me out whenever I have problems in writing Java programs. My Boss in Pro*C and Java. My partner for the evening and late night walks. I like to spend time with him. Time flies when I am with him.

Aju Paul : My AVP at the work place. A nice friend and a wonderful manager. Hats off to his technical knowledge. Fun filled person. My smoking partner. Jovial, co-operative and extremely helpful.

Rakesh Mishra : One more friend at the work place. Has helped me a lot in sorting Java related problems. Together, we always come up with new ideas to implement.

Daksha Thakur : Friend at the work place. But she is a friend much much beyond any work. A wonderful person, jovial, fun loving and co-operative.

Vijay Raghavan : Friend at the workplace. We go together really well. A person with whom my frequency match is maximum.

Sunil Parchury : Very close friend. Very close to my heart. Hope we remain friends for life.

Anil Ruparel : Less than three months since we met. And still I find him so close to my heart.

Ved Prakash : A really wonderful friend. Very close. We exchange e-mails almost daily. Possibly he was the first person (after me, of course) to check my site and send me his feedback. I look forward to such a beautiful friend. Let our friendship grow. But Ved if you are listening, I would like to ask you, don't you think it has been really, really long since we met. Think about it and plan something.

Mahesh Kumar : Words aren't enough to describe this special friend of mine. A really wonderful person who was my ex-colleague. Possibly the only person whom I still miss in everything I do. A master in Pro*C. He is one of those few persons in this world who never loses his cool.

Anil Kumar C G: A very good friend of mine. A really dedicated co-worker. Very cool. I have never seen him get angry on anyone. Really close to my heart. Never came across a person who has a clearer picture of our databases. Very helpful, very efficient, wonderfully flexible and mutable person who is ever ready to help you.

Prakash Bajaj: My colleague at the work place. Much senior to me but never made himself feel like one. With a friendly interface, he has been able to mingle into our group like he was there from the very beginning. A perfect gentleman, who is always ready to help.

Deepika Bhansali: Can't find words to describe this friend of mine. Yet to meet her, but she is just exquisite with all the grandeur and with all the traits that I look for in a friend of mine. Loving, understanding, co-operative, really great in keeping in touch ... and many more. A full dictionary would full short in describing her. Just looking forward to meeting her.
