Fuchsia thymifolia
A most attractive Mexico native that has small green serrated leaves and dainty
flowers. Evergreen in frost-free areas, deciduous elsewhere. The dangling white to pink
flowers are small and somewhat bell-shaped and age to a deeper pink. The flowers are spread
liberally over the plant. Upright in growth, the slender stems are crowded with tiny, deep
green leaves that are mite resistant. The foliage is reminiscent of holly. Use in
containers or as a garden shrub. All Fuchsias enjoy moist, well drained soil and shelter
from hot winds and hot afternoon sun. In harsh climates, grow in a greenhouse or treat as
an annual. |
