| Good Stuff for the Escort 03/03/01 I have been in contact with a manufacturer for front strut tower bars for the Escort. They will be "Race Bred" true performance bars. These will be the strongest bars on the market, and will have attachment points for remote oil resevoirs that are used in some popular race coil over set-ups, if the desire is shown for it. The bar will retail for somewhere in between $165-$175. Racers this bar is designed with you in mind, very stiff and virtually unbreakable. Built with a cam lock to preload the towers for better turn in response at the corners. No "pretty" bars sold here, just function... New and Exciting mods for the Subaru 02/16/01 Our latest beautifying modification for the Scooby is a grill, vent, scoop screen kit. Available in a large array of colors, to fit a multitiude of Scoobies(including the Legacy and Forester.) Also available upon request is a kit for the lower grill area in the bumper. The normal kit which includes the grill (where the emblem is), the vents, and the scoop opening, sells for $55 shipped. The lower bumper area grill kit sells for $35 shipped. These are made from aluminum to eliminate the risk of rust oxidation. |
| New Projects and Happenings 02/08/01 Some new and exciting things are going on here at Compass Motorsports. I have found several companies that are chomping at the bit to build products for both Subarus and Escorts. One of the new items is a rear sway bar for the Impreza and the Legacy platforms. The bars are 19mm and 22mm and features all the mounting hardware needed to install, plus new metal end links(stock is plastic) and poly urethane bushings at all mounting points. The straps that mount to the crossmember and hold the bushings in place is also upgraded from a 1 bolt wrap around style to a 2 bolt style strap.(This requires minor drilling for the extra bolt.) This system of improvements will show itself to be very beneficial to handling in that it reduces the amount of "flex" present in the mounts themselves. Another new item is a full 1" rear anti sway bar for the Escort line up.(LX, GT) This bar as stated is 1" in diameter and comes with all needed mounting hardware and poly urethane bushings. This bar is perfect for those that enjoy track day with your daily driver. It produces a nice proportion of controlled oversteer.(off throttle) All bars include needed mounting hardware and carry a full warranty against breakage. Even if you race your car! | More New Products coming 02/10/01 Another new item that we are working on is an adapter to fit a cone filter to the Air Flow Meter. There are two different kinds and two different styles, one made out of aluminum with a 3'' pipe, and the other made out of stainless steel also with a 3'' pipe. There is an adapter to fit the meter on a Ford, Mazda, Toyota, and Nissan. There is also a seperate adapter to fit on the Subarus and other cars with the different style meter. The aluminum adapters are $28 shipped in the U.S., and the stainless steel adapters are $38 shipped to anywhere in the U.S. |
| Suck It Up... 05/03/01 We are currently testing two different intake designs for the Subaru line up of cars, and are working on several more. Our goal is to increase power throughout the operating range, with little or no loss in any one range. Seat of the pants testing(a.k.a. ButtDyno) gives the "feel" of more power/harder pull. A real Dyno run is in the near future, and I will post the results when I get them. |
