Anton-
Bonjour, what is the full name?
Corey-
Corey Dave Teskey.
Anton-
How many years have you been skateboarding for?
Corey-
Hmmm...about 2 1/2 to 3.
Anton-
Who, or what have been your major influences?
Corey-
Tony hawk was my very 1st influence, when I first skated skating. Now I think it's probably Ryan Sheckler because he's so young and good! It just pumps me up to skate knowing that some one so young can bust like that.
Anton-
What keeps your skating so alive, with so few skate spots and parks in Sudbury?
Corey-
Umm...its just knowing that if you wanna go somewhere in skating you have to step up lots. Especially in Sudbury, like you said we have few spots and parks, and when you land a trick then watch it on film you just go whoa! That's a great feeling and makes me wanna skate more.
Anton-
Speaking of film and busting out...are you in any videos currently?
Corey-
Yea man, Misinformed! She gunna be crazy.
Anton-
What makes you psyched about it?
Corey-
I dunno man, you'll know when you see it. Like everyone just busts for it, especially Triff, he's sweatin' blood for this vid. Man, his part's gunna be intense.
Anton-
How did you start skating with Rob Roy, and the D&R crew?
Corey-
To tell you the truth I don't remember. When I was skating at Capreol one day, Rob (Roy) asked me if I would like to be on the D&R team, and that's good. I do not remember how I met Rob (Roy) either, (laughs) I totally forget. He's a good guy though.
Anton-
How does it affect you, to be on a team with so much talent?
Corey-
It just pushes me more when someone busts something crazy, like I just want to stay level with the rest of the crew.
Anton-
Are your parents into your skating? (I've noticed your dad always gives you rides and stuff...and has the rail in the car, etc)
Corey-
Oh man, my parents support me so much its crazy. I'm pretty sure you know my pops skates eh? Its really sweet, cause when I go bust he tags a long for a sesh (session) most of the time when he's not working. It's really enjoyable. They drive me everywhere, like if I hear about a comp (competition) that is out of town I'll tell them and they'll be like "you wanna go?". Its so rad.
Anton-
That's great man, you are lucky.
Corey-
Oh for sure.
Anton-
Whenever you skate, it's as if you are always busting the cleanest and hardest tricks. Where does that come from?
Corey-
I guess if I land a trick and it wasn't clean I'll just redo it until its clean. No sketch, that's how I like my tricks landed. They feel the best.
Anton-
Where do you want to take skateboarding in the future?
Corey-
Big leagues. (laughs)
Anton-
(laughs) What do you mean by that?
Corey-
Be in magazines, videos, have your own signature deck, that's always good. (laughs) I have a company that wants to take a look at some of my stuff. That could be good! You know when the Underattack tour people came down? Well this one guy, Geoff Dermer has been keeping in touch with me, and he wants me to give him a video for Monke Skateboards. He's stoked on that.
Anton-
That's incredible man..
Corey-
Yea, I'm stoked.
Anton-
Who is your favorite skateboarder?
Corey-
Hmm...I'd have to say Chris Cole. He's so good, and much much style. P-rod (Paul Rodriguez), he's up there too. But Ryan Sheckler, so young, so good. Man, there is so much talent in the world, it's incredible.
Anton-
What is your favorite trick?
Corey-
My favorite trick is a kickflip. You can do so much stuff with just that trick, and crooked grinds are a quality trick. My favorite trick to see done is probably...all of them, if they're done solidly with good style.
Anton-
What tricks have you been working on lately?
Corey-
Ummm...stepping up kickflips, and I got tailslides down now man, its crazy.
Anton-
Skating at night, or day?
Corey-
Both are good, but I prefer day. I seem to have more energy.
Anton-
Anything else you would like to put in?
Corey-
(laughs) Go skate!
Corey-
Shout outs go to my parents for everything they do for me, and Joel from Skadurz for hookin' me up. And Rob and everyone in the video, and you too Anton for doing this interview, (laughs) and Pierre and Joel the biker "Yeah right there buddy" for taking us on road trips.
Anton-
I think that's it then, thanks alot for the interview, Corey.
Corey-
No problemo, G.
