JOHN WILLIAM BATKIN ( Sr) He was employed by Messrs Merryweathers Engineers Greenwich Road. On the 6th December 1884 his right hand was caught in the machinery had to be amputated from the wrist. He was kept on at the firm as messenger, then as assistant storekeeper. On the 16th September 1891 he was charged with theft, of Copper Studs at Greenwich Police Court . Sentenced to a fine of 40s or 21 days imprisonment. He entered the Greenwich Work House on the 11th July 1892. |

She became a live- in servant and did not give her address to her father. MAURICE BATKIN At the age of 14 he was sent to the training ship Exmouth by the Guardians . FLORENCE BATKIN She became a inmate of Darenth Asylum, Kent, at the age of 12. |
