He was admitted on the 7th November 1892 to Barnardo Children Home at the age of 7years 11months
He stayed there for three years. On the 5th September 1895,he left the childrens home, to board the SS Sardinian/ Liverpool, arrived in Quebec on the 15th September 1895.
After arriving in Canada , he was boarded out with David Hughes on the 18th September 1895.He stayed there for 2years. Then he was moved to George Tudge, who owned a Fruit Farm, where he stayed until he left in 1907
