Chapter 4

"SAKURA!!" Syaoran yelled in desperate plea as he plummeted downwards to the steep ravines below.
Sakura gasped with surprise and scurried over to the cliff's edge. In panic, she reached out and tried to grab whatever she could of him. Her mouth opened in shock as she found her hands catch onto his sword...

"Oh my. What a suprising turn of events," The man in the shadows adjusted his gaze. "In a little bit of trouble now aren't we?"
He gave a small chuckle of amusement as his eyes pierced the small crack of light in front of him. For a moment there was no sound but that of water dripping far, far away in the distand background. Suddenly the man brought his foot down in loud bang onto the cold stone floor. He lifted his foot to stare at a writhing bug on the ground. The man smiled as he watched the helplessness of the almost dead insect.
"This should be rather interesting..."

Sakura winced when the sharp blade cut into her hand as she tightened her grip. She pulled Syaoran up little by little, gasping at the pain the sword was causing her.
Tomoyo rushed over with a panicked expression. "Sakura!!! What are you doing??"
Syaoran had used this time to grasp onto some earth before dragging his body over the edge of the cliff. He groaned as his feet finally hit solid earth. Sakura, whom had now dropped the sword onto the floor, was clutching her bleeding hand, moaning in pain. Tomoyo hastily took out a handkerchief and bound Sakura's hand to stop the constant bleeding.
"Syaoran!" cried Sakura. "What were you doing going over here for??"
"I-I'm sorry!...I-I didn't know an earthquake would hit," Syaoran cast his gulity eyes downwards. "I sensed a presence coming from around here so I went to investigate..."
His eyes wandered around and rested on what looked like a small dark cave on the side of the cliff side. It glowed bright green for a split second. "Look! See? Over there...I think I sense someone...or something..."
Sakura's eye's widened with recongnition. "That power! It...it doesn't seem like a Clow Card...I've collected them all anyways...what is this?"
"Maybe..." Syaoran said hesitantly. "Maybe we should go investigate...whatever it is, I doubt it'll be good. You...you should be on your guard for anything."
"You're right. Whatever I'm sensing isn't giving me good feelings...I feel like shivering all over!" Sakura crouched in fear.
"Hm...." Syaoran said. "I bet that earthquake wasn't a coincidence either. Whoever it is must be very powerful."
"Syaoran! Come on!" Sakura called impatiently, getting onto her magic staff. "You too Tomoyo, let's go!"
She sped down towards the cave and jumped off onto a small platform off of the mouth of the cave. The other two followed suit. Tomoyo hasily got out her camera and began filming Sakura's new mission.
They slowly entered and suddenly became quiet when they entered a massive dark cavern. The room was alive with bats and worms crawling over everything. Eyes peered out at the group as they huddled together, suddenly frightened of something...
Beneath all that scuttling and scurrying, Sakura and the rest could sense something else...something bigger and greater...staggering to life...
For a moment, this great thing paused in it's slow movement and the entire room grew silent, so silent that the drip drip of water could be heard faintly in the background. The group quavered at the silence just as much as they did at the noise earlier and found out suddenly that they seemed to be standing on the edge of something...
They shocking realized that they were out on a treacherous cliff looking into a deep, deep blackness...and what was after that...?
Sakura cast her eyes downwards and suddenly gave a gulp of fright. She was standing on the edge of a great and seemlingly bottomless basin. In front of her, the gaping well loomed with a blackless dull stare.
Something...she thought. Something is down there...I can feel it coming...its coming...
Syaoran tightened his grip on his sword hilt as he too sensed the menancing feeling radiating from the black hole. Tomoyo watched in fear and worry as she looked down at the thing and looked back at Sakura. She had a bad feeling about all this...

DumdumdumDUM!! Hehe....erp. Written in sort of an angsty mood eh? Well, I'm appologizing for the depressedness...I was in a weird mood, I'll say that... -_-;;
And I also appologize for the fact that this chapter is somewhat shorter than the rest. I was planning to add more...really...Actually, I have nooo idea where the "thing" came from...reminds me of Lord of the Rings tension, so hehe. I wrote the last line and thought it was a cool cliff for you guys to hang over. =P So then! Comments? Email!!!
