Volume 1
This is my first collection of Poetry that I have written. This is Volume one.
My Woman

My woman

The most intelligent of them all

Knows how to treat her man

Won’t just talk but actually call

My woman, with beauty able to draw eyes

Skin so silky smooth it is hard to keep my hands off her

Allows kindness to graced upon her

Without taking advantage

My woman reveals her feelings

Reversibly able to listen

Loves before receiving

Inside and out

I will always love my black woman. by Shane Byron

Poetry 2.5 Hours Away

Its like talking to a friend you haven’t seen for years

You still connect,

Communicate to each other with no fears.

It’s unlike a real relationship in retrospect

You don’t see each other’s expressions

But some how feel future passions.

Faces each haven’t seen

Exchange of voices incoherent.

True this can start a scene

Of being ignorant

Meeting someone over the internet.

Both of you are grown

Though not living on there own.

You are strangers

With some similarities

Concerning anger

About ex’s past responsibilities.

To keep from anyone getting hurt

There is a need for a strong friendship to start

For this all to work

And no one will end up loosing a heart. By Shane Byron

The Game

The time was thought to be coming

Where everyone is treated equally,

Violence ceasing to exist

So mothers can finally stop the morning’

Of their lost children once born

Exiting this earth so unexpectedly

Wondering who is next

To go through another tragedy.

Niggas shooting each other

For what ever reason.

Sistas hoping that we can come together

Forming unity within our nation.

Sellin’ and pimpin’, are the shit we in

Instead of educating ourselves for the new millennium.

Using the talent of persuasion for good

And be able to finally change the hood.

Racial feuding

That is physically, mentally, and spiritually driven.

No justification to stereotyping

And racial profiling

Club owners and Bouncers

Don’t give a f***

If they loose a buck

As long as they get rid of all the colored mother f***ers.

Eyes watching in

Stores, malls, and streets

Brothers wondering what standards to meet.

How are minorities to brake away,

From their chains

When certain people

Somehow seem to continuously be able to change

The game. By Shane Byron

Change of Pace

Are we going to be free?

Clean of racial profiling.

Go in to the jewelry store

Jeweler asks if you can afford that pinkie ring.

Roll out a ball of cash

“He’s a drug dealer!”

Probably true

But why make it so obvious that we do

Giving whites too easy of a chance to hate.

Not just one,

But all of us need to educate

We don’t need some wealthy white wash nigga telling us to change.

Its not the black representatives obligation to start a trend

Maybe a strong young black man must lead us again.

Not for freedom

But for the start of our self respect

Understand our brothers in the struggle

As they knew nothing else

Just trying to make mad dollars

Chill.

My Gangstas no need to be self absorbed

Take care your woman

Luv her as she loves you.

See your kids grow

Don’t do what your pops did to you.

Education my brothas, it is the key

Learn from past mistakes

It will be worth while you’ll see.

The evolution of the black man is upon us

Get your fist up my brothers, The Time Is now! By Shane Byron

People Consciousness

Life is run in stages

Everyone knows we end up going through the same changes

Although some of us die before can hear, understand this notion.

We struggle

Climbing the cooperate ladder

For our social position.

Life as we know it is a game

Some play better than others

Extroverts strive for excellence

Work hard with the love and support of their parents

Introverts lacking the physcological guidance

Hardly in the right mind set

Likely to shoot with no conscience.

Maybe we play to hard

Look at others with no regard

Handle our business with a lack of consciousness. By Shane Byron

Self Induced Terrorism

What makes us able to survive all obstacles?

What gets us to that peak at the top?

What makes them better than us this time?

What makes them think they can disturb our equilibrium?

Slam a plane into a building

Laugh about it

Tape themselves while they do it.

What makes you think that we’ll ever catch him?

Theres truly to many people behind him

Is the whole world a target?

Or is it just the Americans?

Do they have something to do with it?

The United States of America

Top of the food chain

Birth place of the game

Too much emphasis on running everythang

Do they help others unconditionally?

Help willingly?

Is the Middle East a bother?

Full of terrorist

But still instrumental in the Americans survival,

As the undisputed world power.

What if peace finally shone?

Would it hold up?

For how long? By Shane Byron

sUga- LIFE AND TYMES Pt.1

Given name Shane Byron

Struggled with who I was,

Falling to pressures of being someone else

While still being told to be myself.

Raised by my mother,

Family a Surrogate to me

Never thought to be noticed by my father

She created me

In a mental sense,

As she cared for me .

Listened to my issues

Being able to overcome the reality of racism

Dry the water fall tears,

Made a man of me

Able to treat a woman with respect

While battling over if I can trust them.

Cheated on by my second girl

Cheated on my third and fourth.

Trying to understand life

By living it.

Respect all my bredgrine and them

Give ‘em pound

West Indian fo’ life

Even though I haven’t lived there

My vincy pride is in full affect

And nothing but

Not a Jammie, bajan, or a trini

Maybe consider myself granadian.

Waving the triple dia’s,

yellow, green and the blue in the air.

Always hold on to the memory of Grandpa Byron

Also known as gramps,

Lived life to the fullest.

Danced and prayed in his rest

Showering my family with his bless.

I for one am not an unbelievably religious man

I try.

I was told to understand

But I can’t live my life over the pages of a book written by

some man.

I am in control of my own destiny,

If not controlled by the stars.

Everyone has there own beliefs

Don’t be mad at me.

Understand that if u believe in something

I shouldn’t be obligated to believe you as well

But be able to have an open mind on anything.

Love should not be compromised

Still there are obstacles

People bound on religion

Not able to love who they want to love

As color, race, creed come in between.

Love only those who love you

Because those that don’t will hurt u.

Open yourself to communication

So the real you can come through.

By Shane Byron

Enough

My young sista why do u hate so much

Sometimes I consider u a snotty bitch

I’m not good enough fo u

Why u making such a big fuss

Need I be a thug fo us to hitch

U could have a businessman slash poet

But u choose to have a nigga.

A brother that doesn’t care if his girl succeeds

Going to any length to torment her.

I’m not in a hurry

Just wondering what’s the difference?

If I chill wit a white girl

Getting my needs

Do u need a referral

You don’t love me, and now I’m sick.

Sick of waiting for u.

By Shane Byron

Playas’ Best Friend

Stylish and sleek

Even though some are edgy

For the new times

Holding their own

Breaking necks once or twice a week.

Some like to speak

Others keep their peace

Both have a feel for finesse

Always a risk of theft,

With the small chance of replacement.

Make love,

As surfaces connect

Gears shifted

Props when peps give respect

The thrill and exhilaration

Pushing the limits

But keep within boundaries

Forbidden areas detected

Both can take you there

Watch for what is right

Because both can end up taking your life.

By Shane Byron

Earth, Sun and the Moon

Beautiful world

Different color rays

Combine to form this world.

Earth

Shapes, Sizes, and Shades

Races trying to work together

Lack comprehension and compassion.

Sun

Hope, Faith and Life

Starts from the heart

Ends in development of the mind.

Moon

Love, Feel, and Trust

So wipe the tear from your eye

Your questions will be answered soon.

By Shane Byron

Words from My Father

You got it made son

Money, cars and bitches

On top of the world thinking you’re number one

There’s no conscience in you

Think of the brothas that made you

There is importance in remembering

Those that fought before us

Yes you are talented

Can sing and dance

But what happened to your valence?

Keeping grip with reality

Become smart about your money

Live life but keep breath close to the future

Because, your spiritual, physical and mental,

Being is essential,

To making it in life further.

These are words from my father.
