Volume 2
This second collection of poems have a little more personal emphasis, more on the past looking to the future on a bunch of serious and humourous topics.

Frame Memories

Capture an event

By taking a picture of it.

All the memories of that day stored on film

Paper sheets don’t last forever

However, remember that event, that day with your mind.

Nurture your soul.

Fill your head with necessary information.

Use it constantly,

Because the minute you don’t.

Family and friends will be lost forever.

No matter if you have that thin piece of paper to show it.

Light Placement

I’m in my own place now

High above where anyone can see me

Didn’t use drugs or alcohol to do it

But the power of thought to reach it

Understanding of where I stood on this earth

What I successfully became

Justifying my birth

Shards of light amassed my face

A hand guided me to that quite haven

There are no demons to keep chase

I’m now in my special place.

Shane-Lyfe and Tymes Pt.2

Risen from the dust and ashes

A place I never seen before

Being so close but yet so far

In love with a pretty girl

A sudden closeness to my father

Maturity hitting me

Able to understand my mother,

And what she goes through

Seeing the change of the world

Kids learning faster

Mad luv for my brothers and sisters

Encouragement and motivation,

Is what live on to survive.

It can take one blink for you to lose your focus on life

Step on opposition

Listen to the heart

I tell myself this, to hold my position.

The hint of a job still lacking

But my woman continues to love

Other sisters beginning to hate

I’d love to see them around soon with the money I’ll be making.

Still I’m in a hole

As nobody sees but me

That Shane’s self -motivation has almost run out

Depression sees no puncture in my skin to come out

I must conquer these feelings

Not from outside but inside myself

So I can start my real life.

Bredgrine Copy Kat

Sick of dressing like the next

Some one seem to say the same shit

As you and your crew

Botty man love try fa lick your style

When they truly don’t know

What you really go through

How it is to be you

Everyday

Followed by a store worker fraid that u gon steal

Yes boiy wear your pants down past your ass

The thing don’t do it without class

Call ME a nigga

You lucky most of us to nice to pull u a nice trigga

Listen to our music, don’t care

Take our NUBIAN PRINCESSES

Most of us don’t really dare

Except fo the few

Who has balls the size of the world

Take the time to make it work

Holla and tell everyone you half black

Gal why u have braids pon yah head

Yah wack u have straight hair

Which part of you whan get jacked?

Think you’re jammie cause u grew around them?

Unless u a set down deh yah know shit.

It must be hard times living on reservation

That’s why give props to them natives

They try hard, and never quit

But to go as far as to claim you’re just like black?

What? U must a done been on crack

Don’t mean to hate

Just find your style

Know who u are, where u from

And do u,

Don’t be like Bredgrine Copy Kat.

Root Word

Depths of concrete

Jungle absent of green

There are vicious scenes

Crosses and lynches

There’s no balance, Naturally

Deaths of Intelligent men and women because of color

A truly Gifted presence now

Still no real change

In this Generation of a overflow in talent

Still can’t get away from the word that holds us down

Its just so Excellent that

We’ve grown as a Race and still can’t get away from using it

In songs, and in and around the streets

Ya’ll don’t see that the more we say it

There is no need for others to be real discrete about it.
