~Annie~ ~Annie~ By Professional Reborn Artist Sue Toye Reborned on February 5 th, 2009 at 1:30 pm Weighing 3lbs 17” long with bent knees There are lots of pictures to load, please be patient. Thank you. Annie is magnet free but a magnet can be added for a pacifier if desired. I enjoyed making her into a realistic reborn! Just in time for Easter we have little Annie for adoption. A beautiful baby girl reborn from the wonderfully sweet Mattie Rae sculpt by the very talented artist Val Shelton. I have opted against eyelashes. She is such a small baby; I found eyelashes draw away from the beauty of her face. I took all Annie’s pictures in natural daylight over several days. I took many pictures; only using the ones that made her look true to what she really looks like. The photos have not been enhanced in any way. I did resize to fit for the template, and add my nursery name. At A Glance ~ Baby blue eyes ~ Hand painted with ‘Bloomers ‘n’ Bows’ non-heat set paints ~ Body weighted with non-allergenic ‘Eversoft’ polyester stuffing, glass beads, and poly pellets ~ Baby manicure and pedicure ~ Soft baby brown “Slumberland” hair ~ Jointed and fully poseable faux doe suede body ~ ¾ limbs weighted with ‘Eversoft’ polyester stuffing and small glass beads ~ Delicate veins Annie’s nose is painted for depth and realism. I do not drill holes into the vinyl for the same reason I do not heat it up. This way, if she is being taken good care of, she will be a great collectable for many years. I have taken great care in creating realistic details. I have added layers and layers of paint, letting them cure for hours before moving on to the next layer. The paints dry fast and once dry, they are set. A quick hand is needed. I have been painting for many, many years and so I make sure that each reborn I do is up to my perfectionist standard the first time. I will not let a reborn baby leave here unless it meets these standards, and I myself love it. Annie’s body may be faux doe-suede but I find the body is so soft and cuddly and fits her perfectly. Her body has been weighted with ‘Eversoft’ polyester stuffing, poly pellets, and glass beads. She is evenly weighted and is fully poseable. Annie’s legs, arms and head have been blushed and highlighted with many layers of non-heat setting paints and sealed with a matt sealer. I use my own blend of colours to achieve a true to life baby skin tone on every one of my babies, which makes them truly unique and an OOAK. I then gave Annie a blotchy mottled look to her skin. I use ‘Bloomers ‘n’ Bows’ air-dry paints specifically for vinyl. These paints are permanent, non toxic and since there is no heating, the integrity of the vinyl is not compromised. Annie’s head needs to be supported like a real baby’s and can be gently turned side to side. I have used soft premium baby brown ‘Slumberland’ mohair and have micro-rooted her hair one to two hairs at a time. This took several days, but was well worth it. Her hair is so light and soft that it looks and feels like a real newborns hair. I have sealed the inside of the hair with waterproof glue so you can gently dampen and style it to your liking. I have painted light eyebrows to match her hair. Above show's Annie's hair dry with the flash on my camera off. Below Annie's hair has been dampened with baby leave-in conditioner, and the flash of my camera has been turned on. Annie’s limbs have been weighted with tiny glass beads and 'Eversoft' polyester stuffing. I then seal the limbs. You will fall in love with Annie the moment you hold her in your arms! I know I did! Annie is as snuggly as the teddy friends sharing the picture with her! I have blushed and highlighted every crease on this special little girl. I have given Annie delicate veins in all the right places. Annie’s nails have been painted a natural nail color with off-white tips. They have been sealed with a semi-gloss. Light veining and blushed feet give Annie a more realistic look. Annie’s lips have been painted in a realistic lip shade and have been glossed for a new baby look. Her baby blue eyes and the inside of her nose have also been glossed for a wet look. I loved reborning Annie to be soft and cuddly like a real baby. Coming Home with Annie ~ A hand crocheted bib, beanie and booties in white with pink embellishments made by me ~ Hand crocheted scratch mitts to match made by my daughter Sara ~ 1 Newborn Huggies diaper ~ A Onesie ~ Pink handmade pants made by me ~ Pink socks ~ White and pink crocheted sweater made by me ~ A ‘Crème de la Crème’ hooded gown ~ A pink fleece blanket with a pony embroidered on it ~ Her name bracelet made by Sara ~ Her rebirth certificate ~ Her Care instruction sheet Anything else not listed that is shown in the pictures above are props only. Annie has no magnets or sand, she is safe to ship overseas, and can be handled around electronics and people with pacemakers. She is a collectible doll, not intended for children. Care and caution should always be used when handling a reborn. If you have any questions, please ask. Thank you, and we hope you will love Annie as much as we do! The bracelet is meant only for the Reborn, and not real babies or small children because of choking hazards. About The Paints We bring our babies to life with specially mixed Air-Dry Vinyl Doll Paints from 'Bloomers 'n' Bows' ['BLOOMIN' BABY TONES REBORNING PAINT COLOR BLENDS].These paints are made for painting and blushing on the babies to give the most realistic features and skin tones possible for our reborns. The paint is set in 24 hours and they do not require us to bake the vinyl. The technique is the same as with heat set paints but do not require the use of an oven. We prefer using the premixed paints along with our own blend of colour tones to add each layer to give depth and realism to our babies’ skin. We believe the final product is beautiful, life-like and as permanent as painting on vinyl can be. The final step is to seal the paint with Air Dry Pure MATTE Top Coat Sealer by 'Bloomers 'n' Bows'. This baby is an heirloom quality doll to love and treasure for many, many years. We ship Worldwide.shipping to the US and Canada is marked below.
