I suffered abuse at the hands of a Junior High School classmate... He beat my head into to metal door facing and blacked both eyes, busted my nose, fractured my skull, detached one retina, busted my lips, and gave me a blood clot on the brain... He got suspended the rest of the day, *a few hours* I missed 6 out of 8 weeks of school, and to this day, when I get a headache it centers on my forehead where I STILL carry the knot. This happened 19 1/2 years ago...But because he was a minor, he got off with only a warning and probation...
During this probation period he tried to rape a girl in his class, and charges were filed, so happens her dad was a policeman in the town we lived in. This broke his probation and he was sent to a juvenile center, which did no good. He later kidnapped and raped a woman... Then later he was in the process of robbing someone and they shot and killed him, and now he is pushing up daisies... Something like that was bound to have happened sooner or later.

THE FACE OF AN ABUSER
- is jealous;
- blames others for his/her faults;
- blames circumstances for existing problems;
- demonstrates unpredictable behavior;
- belittles his/her partner verbally;
- cannot control anger or personal rage;
- always asks for a second chance;
- says he/she will change -- that he/she won't do it again;
- may have been an abused child, or witnessed parental abuse and violence;
- plays on the partner's guilt;
- behaves worse when under the influence of drugs or alcohol;
- is closed-minded, his/her way is the only way;
- may seem charming, gregarious, gentle to non-family members;
- Abuses his/her children.
