Want to know what
Sujatha has to tell about the film, unforgettable
incidents during shooting, favourite songs and scenes in
this film .
About the story
of Kandukondain Kandukondain
"Kandukondain"
is a term used by the Alwars in Tamil. It means "I
Found". In this story it is used more in the sense
of revelation. Almost each one of the characters in this
movie discover something as a revelation, true love, true
happiness, true wealth and true friendship. It mainly
revolves around two sisters and the people in their lives.
My feeling while
writing the dialogues
In many scenes the
dialogues wrote themselves in. The structure of the movie
was strong and I didn't have any difficulty in
understanding each character. Hence the dialogues flowed
naturally. It was an added pleasure to weave in some
beautiful lines from our rich poetry. Difference felt
working for this film compared to other films. I had more
freedom in writing the lines. The director did not dabble
in the writing process. It was a great advantage.
Each one to his task" was his principle. His scene
order was very evocative and visual and easy to verbalise.

The character I
liked most.
I liked the disgruntled
army officer's character most. It is played superbly by
Mammooty. I like it more so because he finally gets the
girl and discovers it was worth all the trouble and there
is some meaning in life after all.
The Scene I
found the most moving.
The scene in which the
feudal family is evicted from their ancestral home with
the future staring at them bleakly have been called a
refugee in my own home !" laments the mother leaving
with three daughters and a single suitcase.
The scene and
character I found most challenging to write.
The scene described
above and the climax scenes were the most I would not say
difficult but demanding.
My experience
with Rajiv and his Team.
Working with Rajiv was
a pleasant experience throughout. It was full Of laughter,
music jokes great food poetry, Tamil classics, intense
analyses of structure and exotic locales to write the
scenes. Who would imagine writing on a laptop sitting in
a meadow near a former Maharaja's summer palace watched
by elephants in Periyar, sipping Scotch while listening
to snatches of KVN's kambodhi!
It was a "kandukondain' of Rajiv for me.
