Measurement at the atomic scale has peculiar properties. At macro scale repeated measurements give essentially the same value whereas for quantum systems repeated measurement may result in many different values. The system is supposed to be existing simultaneously in all of these possible states and the act of measurement “collapses” the system into one particular value. The situation is reminiscent of pulldown menu on a computer screen. All the options are available and the program goes into a particular one as we click. In computer’s case we decide and click; but for the quantum systems who decides which state to be collapsed into? Who clicks?
