| A cell is known to be the unit of life. It is astonishing to know that all multi-cellular life, including humans, has evolved from single cells. We tend to overlook another amazing aspect that unicellular life itself has evolved while remaining unicellular. These unicellular organisms are crucial for the existence and survival of all the higher forms of life. They appear to be fundamental, independent, having a mind and a purpose of their own, perhaps even directing the course of evolution. |
