It has often been said that a woman's
choices are never easy. This is something I believe to be a truth of life. And
it is as merciless as any other truth; affecting all that it applies to. It
makes no exceptions for beauty, money, or power. It touches a federal law
enforcement officer every bit as much as the town tramp.
It was no
secret that there was no love lost between Hannah Scott and Carly Quartermaine.
Bringing out another truth; that we hate most what we see in ourselves. For as
much as both of these women despised the sight of the other there was no denying
that both were currently facing almost identical situations. Identical choices.
They were both in love with men that they had been forbidden to love.
Men that prior oaths made their love impossible. Hannah's oath to protect and
uphold the law. Carly's oath to forsake all others before her husband.
If Hannah chose to keep her oath to the FBI she would no doubt lose the
man who had her heart. If she chose to break it she would lose her hard earned
respect and possibly her freedom.
If Carly chose to keep her oath to AJ
she would lose the only man she would ever love. If she chose to break it she
would lose her son and also possibly her freedom.
But there was another
factor that made everything that much more difficult. If Hannah kept her oath to
the FBI then Carly would lose not only the man she loved but also her choice in
the matter.
And Carly being left with no choices is the fastest way to
ensure that things are about to get very out of control.
