South
Back to the big League and there to Stay

As i a
die hard supporter of South Dandenong Soccer Club thought that the club
wasn't going to make it back to the Premiere League but i was wrong. With
1997 president who promoted them to the Premier league Qamil Rexhepi
back in action in 2000 and with new coach Bobby machglaclin ready to take
his troops for a year it was South's Year. With players leaving like tony
Bogjavic, Craig Moodie, Reshat menzezof, Carlo Vilani, Billy wright signs
didnt look good and where was Bobby going to find all the players to replace.
Well first he bought the keeper down from Springvale White Eagles Nick
kalimaris, Top Goal Scorer from the 1999 state League Fikret korakiric,Xhezair
Sulemani from Bulleen, Guiseppe Corallo from Whiltessa Stallions a last
minute Signing, David Grella, Arron Heally, John Macavoy from benteligh
Greens, Christopher Nedza from State league Division 2 Rimgwood City,
and Favorite Son who left us in the 1999 season to play with his Idol Phill
Stubbons Justin Geri came back. With the main aim of winning the league
the Boys got off to a flying start with an 6-0 win over demoted club
Sunshine Georgies who thought the only needed John wadell to survive. In
the middle of the season injuries started to occur and cause of that
the boys lost there first game to our Rivals Westvale Olympic. The boys
were going smoothly and thought they were going to do it like the Essendon
Football Club. it looked liked that but it didn't they drawed to Frankston
Pines and lalor United and lost to second place essendon Royals. At one
stage they were 12 points clear of 2nd Place but even though managed to
win the League and come first and get promotion to the Premiere league.
