"Get off me!" Nick screamed and shoved Kevin away. "Get the fuck off me!"
Nick and Kevin had already pulled apart after wrapping each other in their arms, shoving each other away as though they would both be infected by a deadly virus. The three spectators watched on the sidelines, their eyes wide and their bodies tense with fear. They had seen this happen before, many times before, but none of them had said anything. Or tried to stop it. They just didn't want to get in the midst of it, but they wanted it stop. They didn't want their best friends to beat each other to a pulp.
Nick and Kevin's eyes, blue meeting green in a mammoth dual, glared at each other across the way.
"Hey, who was the one who threw themselves into my arms, little boy?" Kevin yelled and clenched his fists toughly, ready to swing if need be.
But he saw Nick's tears. He didn't want to see Nick cry. That was the last thing in the world he wanted to see. He didn't want to see Nick cry. It was like raindrops and crevices in his heart, each time he saw a tear rolled down his soft, sweet cheek. Nick. Crying. It reminded him of a long time ago. A very long time ago, when he had first...
No, he couldn't think about that anymore.
"I'm not a little boy!" Nick exclaimed and broke himself free from the three amigos and ran at Kevin. But, Kevin's reflexes were more quicker and agile than Nick's, and he quickly grabbed Nick by the scruff of his shirt and threw him against the wall, pinning him in place with his own body. Nick squirmed like a worm burying itself into the ground, weasling and turning and squirming. Kevin placed his legs around Nick's to cease the worm from moving further into the Earth.
"Get off me," Nick managed to say, the pain of being thrown against the wall shooting through him like lightning. Though he hated to admit it, this position that Kevin had him in was quite a turn on, and they both revelled in the feeling of their bodies moulding together.
Kevin responded by pushing him tighter against the wall. "Do you want me to hurt you, little boy?" he hissed into Nick's ear, his tongue lightly grazing the lobe of Nick's ear. He could feel a shiver run through Nick's body, and that was quite an arousing feeling for him. "Come on, little boy, answer me. Do you want me to hurt you?"
"Yes," Nick answered, his breathing laboured and hoarse. "Come on, faggot, hurt me. Hurt me, hurt me, hurt me. Fucking hurt me!" As he said this, he pushed back in Kevin's body, and they both sighed with a small amount of pleasure in their voices. "Come on, Kevy, hurt me," he hissed, trying to make it sound more like a demand rather than a request. Though by now it most certainly was.
Kevin quickly turned Nick around so that his back was now against the wall. Their eyes met again, fury and anger dancing together in one wild tango. "You fucking little boy! Someone should teach you a lesson!"
"Well, come on!" Nick yelled, his face angry and hurt. "What the hell are you waiting for, asshole? Are you all talk, huh? Yeah, you never were nothing but all fucking talk!"
Kevin growled and raised his fist in the air, ready to strike.
"No!" Brian yelled. "Don't hurt him, Kevin, he's done nothing!"
A.J. grabbed Brian by the arm and pulled him back. "Stay back, let them have their bit," he said softly, wanting to see how far this could actually go between these two guys who were up against a wall. Though he had seen this happen frequently these last few weeks, he wanted to see the outcome, and he wanted to find out why they were beating each other so severely. There had to be a reason. Didn't everything?
Nick raised his eyebrows in a taunt. "Come on then, if you think you're such a man. Hit me, Kevin. Hit me, hit me, hit me. Hit me!"
Kevin kept his fist raised in the air, ready to strike again. This time, he clenched his fist tighter and let it drop to connect with Nick's left cheek. Nick's face immediately turned on a right angle, his eyes closed in pain, his hand instinctively covering the blow. Kevin gasped. He didn't believe that he just did that. He had hurt the one person he never wanted to hurt. Never. A hush fell from the spectators and Nick turned his face back slowly, tears were shining his blue eyes. Kevin released the pressure he had against Nick's body and stumbled back.
"Oh God...I-I'm so sorry...I-I-I..."
Nick stood staring at Kevin, with unshed tears in his eyes, speechless.
"All right, that's enough!" Brian bellowed and ran over to pull a silent and stunned Nick away from the wall and into the arms of two of his compatriots. He patted Nick on the shoulder and glared in Kevin's direction. "Are you damn crazy?"
Kevin tried several times to speak, but all that came out was a dry squeak.
Howie got right into Kevin's face, his dark Latin eyes on fire. "What's the matter with you? Why do you keep hurting him? What the hell is wrong with you? You need help, Kevin! You're a crazy psychotic lunatic and we're all scared around you!"
"No," Kevin finally whispered, "I'm...just..."
"Crazy, fucked up, psychotic, deranged, retarded," Nick spat, in the arms of A.J. and Brian, and struggled to get free. "I hate you, Kevin! I hate you, I hate you, I hate you!"
"You fucking sicken me, little boy, crying the arms of those two imbeciles!" Kevin screamed. "You sicken me!"
"You sicken me?" Nick repeated with a laugh. "Is that the best your little fucking pea-mind can come up with? Well, guess what, genius? You sicken me!"
"Easy, buddy, easy," A.J. warned when Nick tried to get free.
All Kevin could see was Nick's tear-stained face. He didn't want to see Nick cry. That was the last thing he wanted to see. He didn't want to hurt him. He didn't want to see Nick hurting. The last thing he wanted to do was hurt him, and he wanted to say he was sorry. He wanted to say that so bad. He wanted to take him in his arms, kiss him, love him, hold him, and say how sorry he was for hurting him. But all he could feel was hatred for him, and he didn't want that anymore. But there was nothing to stop it. Nick tormented him, and Kevin reacted. In the best way.
He watched with lowered eyes as Nick and the others turned their back on him in disgust and led Nick down the hall. He wanted to reach out and say over and over again how sorry he was. He was sorry for everything. Every word, every bit of pain, every bit of hurt that he'd caused Nick. He wanted forgiveness, for he felt remorse. If only his voice would say those very words. He saw Nick turn around and give him a glance, but all he saw in Nick's eyes were hurt, anger and pain, and that was all because of him. He knew that.
Kevin's throat was beginning to hurt from screaming and shouting as he'd done. He bowed his head and crossed the hallway to the door of his room. As he opened it, he peered down the hall. Numerous doors he was greeted with, and nothing else. The four guys had disappeared.
He closed the door to his room and slinked down to the carpet, placing his head on his knees, which were pulled up close to his chest. You fucked up, Richardson. You just fucked up and now everyone hates you. A single tear trickled down his cheek. But it's not my fault. It's his, too. He weeped quietly into his arms. I don't want to hurt him, anymore. Someone please stop me, please. I don't want to see him cry again. Help me, please help me...
Suddenly, there was a knock at the door. Kevin gasped, dried his tears, and leaned against the door. "Yeah?"
"Kevin."
"Nick?"
"Yeah."
Kevin frowned and his heart started pounding in his chest again. He was wary of opening the door to Nick, for fear of his anger and fury that he couldn't quite control could get the better of him. He took a deep breath and opened the door to find Nick standing there with an impassive expression. "Yeah? What do you want?"
Nick pushed past Kevin and sauntered into the room. He glanced at everything around him, and finally placed his hand down on the arm of the black leather couch. "Talk."
Kevin's guard immediately went up and a warning bell went off in his head. "Talk?" he repeated. "Come on, even you're not that stupid to know that we don't talk."
Nick gave him a small smile. "But come on, you want to talk to me, don't you?" As he asked this, he stepped closer to Kevin, and Kevin backed up against the wall, ready to fight again if he had to. Nick placed his hands on the wall, his arms trapping Kevin in place. He smiled again. "Now, answer me. You want to talk to me, don't you?"
Kevin reluctantly nodded. "If you're willing."
Nick took his hands off the wall and pressed himself up against Kevin like a languid feline. "So tell me something, Kevy," Nick said softly in a husky voice, his body connecting with Kevin's. "Want me to kiss you? Wouldn't that be fun?"
Kevin's mouth dropped open. "What's going on with you, little boy?" He was awaiting for something, a punch or a scream or a hit, for saying the two words that Nick hated most. But what he got in return was something he hadn't expected.
"Just this," Nick whispered simply and brushed his lips against Kevin's. It was a soft, gentle kiss, but it was soon charged with all the aggression and fury that they held for each other and soon the kiss was more demanding and needing. Kevin, almost instinctively, wrapped his arms around Nick and pulled him tighter against him, and Nick lifted up Kevin's shirt and lightly grazed Kevin's chest with his fingertips. He heard Kevin moan, and that was all he needed to stop.
He shoved Kevin away. "Like that, huh?" he asked with a small smile, eagerly awaiting the response, for if he got the right answer, he'd have Kevin exactly where he wanted him.
All Kevin could do was nod.
Nick's smile immediately faded and his hand reached out and slapped Kevin's cheek, hard, and while Kevin was stunned, Nick clenched his fist and he punched Kevin directly in the solar plexus. He watched Kevin double over in pain with a certain degree of glee within him. "Now stop thinking I actually like you, faggot," he hissed, slapped the side of Kevin's head and slammed the door on the way out.
Kevin looked up and stared at the back of the door. His lips were still on fire from the searing kiss, and now he was in pain. He screamed at himself inwardly for letting Nick in. He should've known that Nick was going to do that to him. He knew that all Nick was out to do was hurt him. He should've known that it was a ploy to make him hurt. He should've known that it would be just a game that Nick liked to play. He swore under his breath and walked over to the door.
Full of rage and fury, Kevin squeezed his fist together for the millionth time and punched the door solidly, screaming, "FUCK!"
Nick, who was on the outside, heard Kevin's frustrated cry and smiled in satisfaction. "Now you know how it feels," he said and walked off.
