"Mr Richardson,"
the doctor said with a small smile, "nice to have you join us. Have you
recovered?"
Kevin fought back a string of obscenities and simply
replied, "Just fine."
"Gentlemen," the doctor then announced in the
middle of the hall, "here are the rooms in which you'll be living in separately
from here on out." She looked over them all coolly, particularly Nick and Kevin,
who in which she had devised a confrontation with later. "I suggest you all take
this seriously."
"Oh, I take this seriously, all right," Howie said in a
lecherous voice, eyeing the doctor with extreme lust and desire before giving
her a trademark wink.
"Mr Dorough, you will restrain your indiscretions
in future if you don't want to be confined for your entire time here," she
snapped. Then she turned to the rest of them. "Now, you have all been assigned a
room here in the east wing that will be locked and guarded after lights out each
night. This will give you time to rethink your attitudes towards all of this."
"Nothin' a little J.D. can't fix," A.J murmured with a small smile.
Dr Sheffield heard his comment and smiled back. "Oh, I'd like to remind
you that your bags and clothes will be searched upon entrance. I want you all
drug and alcohol free," she added, giving Kevin and A.J a meaningful look.
"Oh, shit," Kevin whispered and lowered his head in defeat.
"What about the bible?" Brian asked in a panic. "Can we take that?"
"Sorry, Mr Littrell," the doctor answered, "but no, you cannot take
your bible with you."
"No!" Brian cried and covered his ears.
"Mr Littrell, you will maintain your maturity in my presence!" she
yelled.
Nick laughed. "Brian got shut down!" he sang.
She glared
in Nick's direction. "Mr Carter! You, too, will maintain your maturity!" She
took a small breath before continuing. "Nor can you take pornographic material,
either," she added, this time giving Howie a meaningful look.
Howie
smiled devilishly. "Anything you say, Doc," he said, giving her another wink.
Dr Sheffield glanced at the papers that she held in her hands. "Now, the
arrangements are as follows. Mr Richardson, you're in room 11 on the left. Mr
McLean, you're in room 4 on the left. Mr Dorough, you're in room 13 on the
right. Mr Littrell, you're in room 5 on the left. And Mr Carter," she concluded,
putting him in this room for a purpose, "you're in room 10 on the left."
"Aw, man!" A.J grumbled and ran his fingers through his hair. "Why do
I always have to put up with Brian's shit?"
"Mr McLean!" the doctor
warned strongly.
A.J rolled his eyes. "Yeah, yeah, swearing is bad.
Heard it all before, Doctor Sheffield," he said, pronouncing her name with
sarcastic emphasis.
Brian crossed his heart. "God will take care of me.
God will take care of me."
Nick laughed. "Funny. Too funny, church boy!"
Kevin gave Brian a
nudge. "For God's sake, Brian, calm down!"
"You're a fine one for
telling people to calm down!" A.J snapped back at Kevin.
Kevin stared
into A.J's eyes. "What the hell are you on, A.J?" he demanded and stepped closer
to him.
"Me?" A.J repeated and sniggered. "What am I on? Let's talk about
what you're on, shall we, Kevy the crack-head?"
"Fuck you!" Kevin
yelled.
"Leave him alone!" Nick contributed and glared in A.J's
direction.
"All of you shut up!" Howie yelled.
Brian covered his
ears. "I'm not going to listen to this. I'm not going to hear this now."
"Gentlemen!" the doctor snapped. They
were all quiet. "Do I have to remind you again just how immature you're all acting
at the present?" They didn't answer. "I think not. And may I suggest that you
all start trying to make an effort to get along in future. Now, Mr Littrell has
a session soon, but I won't be seeing any of you until lock-up this afternoon."
"Lock up. Whoopee," Nick said and bowed his head, which made Kevin rub
the small of his back consolingly, and thinking that the others didn't see, Nick
looked up at Kevin and gave him a small smile.
A.J and Howie, however,
shared a "what's going on there?" glance with each other and the doctor
simply shook her head. "So, gentlemen, get packing and I'll see you all soon."
~**~
"Guys, what are we doing out here?" Kevin asked as they all quickly walked over to the chapel in black, to disguise themselves. "I
thought that we were just going to go along with everything. The week is almost
over, you know."
"Let's not get ahead of ourselves," A.J answered.
"Okay, here's the deal. I'm going to check out the doctor's office before our
next meeting, so hopefully then we'll have something to go on with from there."
Nick rolled his eyes. "This is pointless."
"Pointless, my ass!"
Howie replied. "Did you see what they did to Kevin? Man, if the Doc wasn't so
damn hot, I'd probably kill her!"
"More like screw the living daylights
out of her!" Nick retorted.
Brian covered his ears.
"No!"
"Guys, guys!" Kevin interrupted. "Civil, okay?"
A.J narrowed his eyes in Kevin's direction. "What's the matter, Kevy?
Coke running out or something!"
"Fuck you!" Kevin yelled. "I don't need
this shit."
"No, I say
fuck him!" Howie joked and nodded in Nick's direction.
Nick gasped and
Kevin narrowed his eyes murderously. "That wasn't funny," he said in a low tone.
"All right, all right," A.J injected. "So, this is the plan. We keep at
this as usual and soon I'll have enough info to go on with." He turned to Nick.
"Oh, I'm going to need you soon to see if you can fit through that window in the
bathroom. It's our only escape route so far."
Nick relented finally and
nodded. "All right."
"So, when do we get to see the Doc's office?" Howie
asked with an expectant grin.
"Never for you, Howie the horny-baby!" A.J
quipped. "Anyway, let's all keep our cool and meet at the same time tomorrow."
Kevin rolled his eyes. "This is getting more dramatic than a goddamn
soap opera."
~***~
"Mr Littrell," the doctor began, "you seem to be the only one who ever makes these sessions on time. I must say, I'm
impressed."
Brian held his bible close to him. "I'm God's son."
Doctor Sheffield narrowed her eyes for a moment before glancing at her
file on Brian. "Mr Littrell, tell me why you think that. Tell me why you think
you're God's son."
Brian's eyes glazed over. "I'm God's son," he
repeated.
"Yes, Mr Littrell, you've said that already," she replied
patiently. "But can you tell me why you think that? You've written in your diary
that we all need rescuing and that you're the only one to do that. What makes
you think that?"
Brian clutched his bible closer to his heart. "I'm
God's son."
Doctor Sheffield sighed. "Yes, Mr Littrell, I'm well aware,"
she said dryly, "But why do you think that? Why is it you and no one else?"
Brian smiled eerily. "I'm God's son."
"Mr Littrell," she warned
strongly, "if you don't start taking this seriously, I'll have no other option
but to place you in solitary confinement in the same form as Mr Richardson. And
you don't want that, do you?"
"No, Doctor Sheffield."
"And you
don't want to be drugged with tranquillisers, do you?"
"No, Doctor
Sheffield."
She gave him a small smile. "And you don't want to separated
from the other gentlemen and from your bible or your music, do you?"
Brian shook his head quickly. "No!"
"Then, will
you answer my questions?" she asked.
Brian deliberated for a moment,
then nodded. "Okay, Doctor Sheffield."
"Good." She took a small breath
and tried again. "Now, can you tell me why you think you're God's son and why
everyone needs rescuing and why only you can do that?"
Brian suddenly
jumped out of his seat with his bible over his heart and declared, "I am
God's son!"
"Mr Littrell!" she demanded. "Take your seat and stop
acting so juvenile!"
Suddenly, A.J came running through the room and
pointed at Brian. "Does this guy know how to party or what?" he yelled
and laughed hysterically before running out again.
Doctor Sheffield sat
back and sighed. She was slowly finding that there was no way on Earth that
these gentlemen could help themselves.

A.J burst through the room, still laughing hysterically and fell onto his bed. Suddenly,
he sat up. "I need more booze."
"What's so funny?" Howie asked as he was
packing his clothes.
A.J's features clenched. "Nothing. I don't want to
talk to you."
"Come on, A.J, please talk to me!" Howie begged and got
down on bended knee and clasped his hands together. "Please! I don't have anyone
else to talk to."
A.J stared straight ahead at the wall. "No," he
replied in a miffed tone. "You call me names, and I don't like names."
Howie fought hard to bite back a rather hilarious comment about names,
but he held it to himself. "I'm sorry." He extended his hand. "Buds?"
A.J chuckled. "If you're looking for buds, go to the room next door.
Kev'll fix you up quick."
Howie laughed. "See? You wanna be my buddy!
Come on, who've you got to talk to? Nick? Kevin? Brian? No, only me.
Come on, please?"
"Oh, all right," A.J conceded, making it sound as
though he was doing Howie a huge favour. He shook Howie's hand. "Buddies."
"Excellent." Howie sat down on the bed. "So, did you see what was
happening between Nick and Kevin? Major chemistry. Something's going down."
"Yeah, and you'd know all about going down, wouldn't ya?" A.J teased
with a devilish smile.
"Can I help it if I'm a master in the bedroom?"
"Oh, please!"
Howie laughed. "Seriously. The way Kevin rubbed
Nick's back and Nick's smile...yep, certain that something's going down
there."
A.J sat down and frowned. "What? Do you think they're getting
each other off or something?"
Howie shrugged. "Maybe. It's possible.
But, I mean, from my experience - "
"Oh, God, here it comes," A.J
complained and shook his head. "Where's the booze when I need it?"
Howie
chose to ignore this remark. "It seems as though there's something deep between
them. I think it's more than them just getting each other off." He paused and
widened his eyes for dramatics. "I think it's love."
A.J wrinkled his
nose and stood up. "I need a drink."
Howie jumped up. "It's true! A.J, I
think they're really in love."
"A really big one, too!" A.J yelled, trying
to block out Howie's voice.
Howie then pulled A.J closer to him and
wrapped his arms around A.J's waist. "I'm in love with you, A.J," he said
dead-seriously, trying hard to keep his voice straight.
A.J screamed and
pushed Howie away. "Holy fuck! This ain't rehab, it's a haven for Homo's!"
Howie laughed hysterically. "Gotcha!"

"Kevin?" Nick asked quietly, searching through his things in the closet and wondering where his knife was. "Why did you take my
army knife?"
Kevin turned around. "Because you'd hurt yourself, and I
don't want to see that happen to you," he said softly, covering his little white
supply with a few shirts. "You have to stop hurting yourself."
"And you
have to stop snorting twenty-four-seven!" Nick yelled and grabbed Kevin by the
shoulders. "You're high right now, aren't you?"
Kevin was getting
agitated and pushed Nick away. "So what if I am?"
Nick slowly sat down
on the bed. "Were you high when you asked me to love you?"
Kevin
shook his head. "No," he whispered. "I wasn't."
"Were you the time
before?" Nick demanded with his arms crossed against his chest. "Were you?"
Kevin sighed angrily. "I don't fuck on cocaine if that's what you're
wondering!"
"Kevin," Nick began slowly, trying to find the right words.
"I love you. I don't know how or why I love you, I just do. And I don't want you
to keep doing this to yourself. Just like you don't want to me to hurt myself.
Will you stop? For me?"
Kevin sighed again, this time out of despair,
and sat down next to Nick. Nick snuggled into Kevin's strong grasp at his
command. "I can't promise anything. But I'll try. I'll honestly try to stop. For
you. And, for myself."
Nick looked up and kissed Kevin softly. "You know
that we can't be together anymore." A single tear trickled down his cheek. "I
wanna be with you forever! I don't want to be separated from you and not be able
to do what we...do."
"Do you like doing what we...do?" Kevin
teased gently.
"Yeah," Nick replied quickly, with his eyes gleaming.
"Yeah."
Kevin turned Nick around to face him and stared deep into his
eyes. "Tell me what you want, Nick. Anything you want, I'll do it. Just tell me
what you want. Tell me what you like. Tell me what you love. Tell me
everything..."
Nick's heart began to race. "You already know what I
love, you've done it so many times it's...it's...God...I don't know."
"Let me love you," Kevin said suddenly. "Let me love you. Right
now."
"No," Nick replied.
Kevin frowned. "No?"
"No,"
Nick repeated. Then, he smiled. "But I'll let you, if you let me love you."
Kevin smiled back. "I love you, Nick."
Nick was about to give him
a rather big confession about his undying love for him when Kevin laid him down
against the pillows and leaned over him, his longish hair falling into his eyes
which Nick found to be so irresistibly sexy. Nick gasped when Kevin took off his
own shirt, then pulled Nick's shirt off and began to undo Nick's pants.
"I guess
we should make the most of the time we've got, huh?" Kevin said.
Nick let out a
small moan when Kevin leaned down and kissed him just below his belly button,
then grabbed hold of Kevin's pants to bring him down closer. "How long have we
got?" he asked breathlessly, reaching up to place small kisses on Kevin's jaw
bone.
"About five minutes," came the answer with a few short gasps.
"Long enough," Nick replied and pulled Kevin closer to wrap his arms
around him and kiss him, which would inevitably lead to something that they both
loved: loving each other.

The Doctor's heels echoed in the long hallway as she approached the five men standing with bags
over their shoulders, awaiting to retire to their newly assigned rooms. Alone.
"Ah, gentlemen. Good to see you're all on time. For once."
"Fuckin'
'ey!" A.J yelled. The other four stared at him as though he had grown another
head. "What?"
"Mr McLean, you will keep your language to a minimum in my
presence." the doctor said strongly. Then she turned to the others. "Like I said
before, your bags will be checked so I suggest you hand them over now so that
you can all sleep." She turned to Howie. "Mr Dorough, your bags?"
Howie gave her a usual wink. "Your wish is my command, Dr Sheffield," he
said with a bright smile and gave her his bags. She began searching through
them. "Take your time, be thorough, have a ball!"
"Howie! Are you
insane?" Kevin demanded with his hands on his hips.
"No more insane than
you and Nick!" Howie retorted.
"Hey, what's that supposed to mean!" Nick
yelled.
Howie pointed an accusing finger in their direction. "You two
are fucking, aren't ya?"
"Oh, God!" A.J exclaimed.
Brian covered
his ears. "No"
Nick and Kevin paled considerably before the
doctor stepped in. "Mr Dorough, I've warned you about profanity. And next time,"
she added, waving a few magazines in the air, "I suggest you be more discreet."
"Ha! Eat shit and die, asshole!" Nick yelled.
"Mr Carter!" the
doctor warned loudly. She grabbed his bag and began to check through. After a
few minutes, she handed it back to him. "No blades to speak of."
"Thank
God," Kevin murmured.
The doctor then grabbed Kevin's bag and began to
search through. Just like Nick's, his passed. "I don't see any drugs or anything
of that nature. I'm impressed, Mr Richardson," she said with a slight form of
approval.
Nick rubbed Kevin's back, and this time, all of them saw.
"He's stopped. He really has stopped," he whispered.
"Mr McLean, if
you'd like to hand over your belongings," she requested.
"No!"
They all
groaned and rolled their eyes.
"Where's my Mommy?" A.J cried.
"Oh, for
Christ - " Kevin began.
Brian covered his ears. "No!"
The doctor quickly snatched his bag away and searched through while A.J
sulked in defeat. "Stupid woman and her stupid..."
"Baby," Howie
teased softly.
"Nympho," A.J teased back.
The doctor pulled out
a bottle of Vodka. "Thank you, Mr McLean. I'll be taking this with me and adding
it to my collection."
Howie gave her another wink and a lecherous smile.
"Sharing that with anyone special, Doc?"
They all groaned again at
Howie's advances and Doctor Sheffield began to check through Brian's bag. She
pulled out a bible and a few candles. "Thank you, Mr Littrell. I'll also be
adding this to my collection."
Brian burst into tears. "You're
all so cruel to me. Why?"
They all laughed at him, but the
doctor scowled. "Mr Littrell, if you insist on acting like a baby, you shall be
treated like one. Do I make myself clear?"
"Treat me like a baby anytime
you need to, Doc," Howie said with another wink.
Doctor Sheffield
sighed, utterly exasperated. She now had a headache. "I suggest you all get into
your rooms now or else I'll confine you all for the next forty-eight hours. Now
get in there!" She took a deep breath and pointed to the two men in white coats.
"They'll be locking the doors after you and will be on guard at all times. Do
not try anything stupid, gentlemen. Good night."
They all entered their
assigned rooms and as Kevin and Nick parted, they both looked at each other.
Nick mouthed, "I love you" and Kevin did the same. But this time,
Doctor Sheffield saw the whole thing.
