Two glasses and a near-empty bottle of wine was placed on the polished wooden floor beside the bed. Both glasses were drained. A packet of cigarettes and a gold lighter were resting next to an ashtray with several crushed cigarettes on the night table, next to the black clock. Various candles of different sizes and colours were placed around the room, most completely melted down.
The sunlight lit up the room in yellow patches, the rays of the sun dodging through the blinds as they moved along with the breeze. The rays also kissed the sleeping bodies of Lyra and Kevin, twisted in the black silk sheets of Kevin's massive four-poster bed in his apartment. The city below, however, was alive and bounding around them.
After finally landing in the early evening, Kevin had whisked Lyra off into the city toward his place with just one thing in mind. He had wanted to apologize for hurting her the way he had. He knew words were not enough, so he decided to use actions instead. Not explaining anything to anyone, he wrapped his coat around Lyra and quickly moved away from the rest of the group.
Once inside the apartment, the two immediately began making up for lost time, to continue on with the "prequel" that had begun. Kevin set out to make sure that she enjoyed herself and that she had. They had both taken comfort in knowing that no-one was watching or listening out for them and that had resulted in the most incredible night that they had ever spent together. Kevin had to admit that he had never experienced anything quite like it, not even with his wife.
It had been several days since they had been together and Kevin had taken his time taking off her clothes, and his. He knew that she was extremely sensitive to his slow touch, so he decided to move even slower. Once unclothed, Lyra wasn't capable to continue on the slow route. She immediately latched onto him and began the most incredible and mind-blowing sex that she had ever experienced with him.
Sometime during the evening, they had talked while feasting on Moroccan delicacies and drinking wine. For some reason, Kevin began discussing his wife with Lyra. How they met, why and how he fell in love with her, how upset he was because she was refusing to talk to him, he found himself telling her everything. And it wasn't as though Lyra was clearly interested in all that, either. More than once she had said to him, while massaging rose petals between her fingers, "why are you telling me all this?"
He didn't know why. He felt as though he needed to confess to her, to explain everything to her. Once he did, he felt as though a weight had been lifted off his shoulders. But only somewhat. He was still guilty about he was doing with Lyra, but he had learned to ignore those guilty feelings within him. It wasn't easy to ignore, but as long as he concentrated on Lyra, everything else seemed not quite as important.
So, he ignored it, released any inhibitions and allowed her to do whatever she wanted with him. Which of course, she did and thoroughly was in a state of ecstasy doing so. That certainly was obvious.
So somewhere between the Moroccan delicacies and the delicacies of quite another variety between the sheets, the two had managed to find sleep. Kevin was quickly awoken by the high-pitched sound of his cell phone. He swiftly threw off the sheets, pulled on his clothes from the night before and ran toward the living room of his apartment. Once out the bedroom door, Lyra sat up. She rubbed her eyes and moved her legs out of the bed and placed her feet on the floor. She grabbed Kevin's robe and wrapped it tightly at her waist before wandering out of the room.
She found him with his back turned to her, speaking in a stern, hushed voice. She bit down on her lower lip to stifle a giggle, she knew exactly who he was talking to. Instead, she grabbed his hand, ignoring the shocked look on his face and led him back into the bedroom. She sat him down on the bed and stood in front of him while he talked, his eyes firmly on her, an impish glint lurking in them.
"No, the point is that you wanted to talk and you didn't even...no, listen to me - "
Lyra decided to take matters into her own hands. She took hold of the robe tie and began to slowly untie it, her face expressionless. Kevin raised his eyebrows and slowly shook his head. Lyra nodded slowly in return. She let go of the tie and the robe fell open, revealing her naked body. Kevin's eyes widened even further and his mouth fell open slightly. He cleared his throat just as Lyra positioned herself on him, wrapping her legs firmly around him.
Kevin's voice began to shake as he spoke. "Look...I can't...talk about this..."
Lyra sighed and snatched the phone out of his hand, flipped it shut and threw it on the bed. She stared into Kevin's wide eyes. "So she was late, huh?"
Kevin frowned. "Late?" He suddenly gasped and pushed Lyra away and jumped up. He checked his watch. "Shit, I'm late! We're late!"
Lyra rolled her eyes and grabbed hold of his shirt. She pushed him back down on the bed. She assumed the same position as before, her legs tighter this time and her arms about his neck. She gently kissed his forehead. Then she pushed him onto his back and stretched herself out after throwing off the robe completely. She kept her lips just inches away from Kevin's while allowing one hand to travel down his body, gently taking hold of what she was in search for. She could've laughed at Kevin's expression.
Lyra spoke in a soft, throaty tone. "You could use some cheering up, Mr Richardson."

A non-descript van was parked across from a Manhattan hotel, renowned for its celebrities passing in and out. A male and a female journalist occupied the van, laptops, cell phones and cameras surrounding them. The male journalist, simply called Ziggy Em, lived up to his name. With his long deadlocks and reggae-inspired ensembles, he hardly looked the part of a paparazzi snoop. Eli Diana, on the other hand, did fit the bill. Short dark hair and business suits, she epitomised the professional.
"Holy shit, Eli! Check this out!"
Eli groaned and placed her Starbucks coffee cup down. "What? Another pigeon sighting?
"Better. Take a look at this!"
Eli peered out the van window. "What? Some guy and his girl walking. Big deal."
Ziggy shook his head, barely containing his excitement. "Uh-uh. What can you tell me about the body language?"
"Um." Eli frowned. "He's possessive, she's just smug because she can pull someone clearly older than her."
"Exactly!" Ziggy exclaimed. "Now, I've caught these two before. Cuba, the club, you know? What would you say if I told you that guy was a celebrity, a major player and a married one to boot and the girl isn't even out of high school?"
"Serious?"
Ziggy nodded slowly. Both began to grin, and then laugh quietly. Then the small chuckles developed into full fledged laughter. Ziggy snatched his camera. "Man, I love my job!"

Kevin pushed Lyra into the black limousine and quickly jumped in after her. The door was slammed shut and the car began to move away. Kevin began to apologise. "I'm sorry I'm late. I, uh, lost track of time."
He looked at all his friends for their reactions. Brian was reading and didn't even bat an eyelash. Nick held his ipod in his hand and his earphones stuck in his ear, his head moving slowly with the music. Howie shrugged and put on his dark glasses and placed his head back against the seat, obviously wanting to catch some more rest.
A.J., however, was a different story. Their eyes locked in a dual for several long, tension-filled moments. Kevin coughed nervously. "What?"
"How can you keep doing this?" A.J. demanded strongly. So strongly that Brian looked up from the pages of his book. "How can you?"
"Nobody's perfect," Brian commented softly.
Andrew, who had been listening to the whole conversation, glanced at A.J. He caught an almost imperceptible nod before placing his eyes back on his diary.
A.J., however, saw the look shared between Lyra and Kevin. Lyra felt A.J.'s eyes on her, turned to him with an innocent expression and then looked out the other window, away from them both.
A.J.'s eyes remained on Kevin.
