So what about me?
What are my favorite things and stuff like that?
How am I? My personality? My way of thinking?

I really do not have favorites. I try to enjoy whatever the moment has to offer, so one minute one thing can be very good; and, the next minute, it can not. However, there are some generalities (random bullets):

• My favorite color is violet. In general, any tone of violet, from navy blue to pale pink (yes, it includes blue and pink as favorite colors).
• My favorite music is pretty much any music, but it depends on my mood. I generally like anything that is singable and danceable. My current favorites (may/18/2001) are Cabrito Vudu, El Gran Silencio, and Speed Limit 35. I love romantic ballads, and ska-like music. I like the lyrics and music of Nicho Hinojosa and Ricardo Arjona. What I like about them is that they make their own music and lyrics... (and they are witty!!) That holds a special value in my standards.
• I like classical music, too. I like too many composers as to cite a favorite one.
• Take me out to the ball game... You know it's baseball... Roger Clemens thinks he's a chicken.** My favorite team? Los Sultanes de Monterrey. American team? Atlanta Braves. Just because.
• I feel a special attraction for 'corridos', and like Los Tigres del Norte and Luis y Julian.
• I do not have really a favorite author, since I actually read whatever junk crosses my path. However, I feel a great admiration for Sor Juana Inés de la Cruz, and a strong preference for magical realism (like that of Gabriel Garcia Márquez). I enjoy religious readings, principally catholic, since I am catholic.
• I have been called weird quite often. (an honor?? *smiles*)
• I prefer Linux as an OS.
• I would probably have a political tendency if I cared enough, but I don't care nor understand that. I like Vicente Fox, though.
• I love hiking and strolling around. I especially like the mountains, being my favorites Chipinque and La Cola de Caballo waterfalls in and near Monterrey, Mexico, respectively.
• I am frequently told I am a busy girl, but I feel I can accomplish much more.
• I am not Ms. Intelligence, but I know I am not stupid. (One hopes, anyway.)
• I can be very kind and open; do not confuse that with being able to step over me.
• I feel a strong attraction for cementeries. It is not weird to find me wanting to go to the graveyard.
• I admire Jesus, St. Mary, my grandmother, my mother, St. Therese de Lisieux, St. Teresa of Avila, Mother Teresa, and St. Ignacius Loyola, among others. (Coincidence that they are mostly saints?) I admire Vicente Fox, too.
• I like to be in church when there is no service. I feel a special peace especially in the Sagrario of the Cathedral of Monterrey.
• I enjoy attending Mass on Sundays.
• I do not usually make decisions fast, but once I make up my mind about something, it will take a pretty good argument or showing me that I am wrong to change my mind.
• I don't watch much TV lately, but I remember my favorite TV show is The Simpsons. I also like TV programs like Jeopardy or Weakest Link. I remember enjoying Futurama, too. TV programs that I still remember from childhood are The Thundercats, Strawberry Shortcake (I still have the bedset), the Care Bears, The Disney Afternoon (Rescue Rangers, Bonkers, and The Goof Troop), and the adventures of Cap'n Nintendo. I also remember liking The Pink Panther, Johnny Bravo, Felix the Cat, The Jetsons and The Flintstones. I still like cartoons.
• I am silly.
• I can not stand much time under the sun.
• I can not drink coffee, but I enjoy tea, especially chamomille. I love chocolate milk, but had to ban it because my stomach doesn't like it as much as I do.
• People think my lemonade is too sweet.
• I can help people try to solve their problems, however, no one should ever expect me to solve all their problems nor all the time.
• I sometimes talk during my sleep... The talking has greatly reduced with age, but it is not limited to talking, but lecturing and poem reciting in English, Spanish, and French.
• I do not believe that a college degree makes anyone any more intelligent, perhaps more knowledgable, but knowledge is not guaranteed either.
• Schools are designed only for the average student.
• I am a passionate person. I put soul, heart, mind, and a little extra in things that interest me. Do not expect me to know about things I don't actually care for...
• I think I am pretty much open minded and tolerating, but not THAT much. There are some things that I can not quite digest and accept, no matter how hard I try.
• I can not get angry, because if I do, I break down crying... and crying big time.
• I am pretty much respectful and pacific. But better not to mess with me. :)
• I tend to have low blood pressure and low sugar levels; these facts have made me faint a couple of times, but they are usually on normal levels.
• If I am going to faint, I am polite enough to tell in advance and give instructions for while I am 'out'.
• I can dance for several hours straight, even if that means to take off the shoes.
• I do not particularly like to wear any makeup, although I do know that with a minimal amount of it, I can look prettier.. let's say 'enhanced'.
• I do not think I need makeup anyway. I also think it is an innecessary expense (ok, sometimes it is necessary). It never lasts long enough anyway, and it can sometimes be unhealthy for the skin.
• I am a fan of jeans and T-shirts, although I own about 33 ties (yes, mine and no one else's).
• It is fun to walk barefoot!!!
• I have been called a tomboy ever since I have memory. I feel comfy climbing trees, riding horses... I used to play with Hot Wheels and MicroMachines when I was a little kid. I also had a fairly big collection of Barbie dolls (about 40some), and a considerable amount of teddy bears and other stuffed animals.
• I have noticed that I hang out a lot with guys. I also have female friends, it just happens that most of my acquaintances are guys.
• I can cook!! (but only on gas stoves.)
• I can sew, and if I am in the right mood, I can even embroider. I never learned to knit.
• I am shy (in spite of all...)
• I have a hard time shaking hands and greeting people. I just don't feel at ease doing so.
• I can not please everyone, and do not even *try* to please anyone.
• This is my desk... as of December 2000.
• I hate unfairness.
• I hate to be told what to do when I know exactly what and how to do or it is obvious.
• I like witty and silly lyrics.
• How about walking, singing, and dancing under the rain? I love it!!
• Rainy days make me feel good.
• I love snow, even when I have never seen a considerable amount of snow.
• Smoking is bad for my health. It is also stupid, and disgusting... including second hand smoke.
• I can swim enough to not drown.
• Horror movies usually make me laugh, and the movie you might least expect to make me laugh or cry will make me laugh and/or cry.
• The thing that scares me the most is hanging people. Haven't been able to see Braveheart because of it, and had nightmares about hanging people after watching Sixth Sense (good movie, btw).
• If you expect me to be your friend, you should understand me, as I think I will understand you.
• I joined the Navy as of March 19.
• My Navy job is Hospital Corpsman.
