Subject: ARABIC: A Call for Audio Lectures
====================================================
A CALL FOR ARABIC AUDIO LECTURES:
Salaam...
I am undertaking a project to collect Classical & Modern Standard Arabic lectures for use in helping non-natives here in America learn the Arabic language.
My primary impetus for doing this is to help establish a good collection for our local full time Islamic school, where Arabic is taught to children.
WHAT YOU CAN DO:
Forwarding this e-mail to others Send us a copy of your Arabic material on audio tape...if you can do this, i'll make it worth your while by returning a tape to you for every one you submit: you send me three nice tapes, i'll go through my collection and send you three, too, etc.
LET'S AGREE TO THE FOLLOWING TERMS:
Send only tapes recorded in CLASSICAL or MSA Arabic!! No Quran (tajweed or tarteel) tapes, please Do not send any copyrighted material (Islamic lectures from the Arab world are seldom copy protected) Send only high quality recordings (I hate those tapes with echo in the background...although some are quite descent) If you are sending more than 20 tapes, please e-mail me in advance If you are sending more than 5 of the same speaker, please e-mail me in advance and tell me something about the speaker. International contributors...may God bless you, but I'm afraid I will not be shipping packages outside of the U.S.!! Tapes will not be returned...so keep copies for yourself!!
