Somabanti Basu (Sarod)

Born in July 1975, Somabanti, a Science Graduate from the Calcutta University is presently doing special Hons in instrumental Music in the Rabindra Bharati University, Calcutta.

Somabanti started her training in Sarod at a very tender age under veteran Sarod Player Late Shri Rabi Laha of Howrah.

Presently she is under the training of Ustad Ashish Khan & smt. Anima Parera. She stood first in the Talent Search Contest, organised by the Dover Lane Music Conference in the year 1998-99.
