>>> Top of the Pops~ Concert Review By: Cindy Wurpel
The following Bush concert review "Top Of The Pops" was written for Summer Is Winter by Cindy Wurpel. If you would like to use this review for your own site please contact the webmaster of Summer Is Winter at summeriswinter@yahoo.com.

Thursday October 4th I was at work and at about noon I found out on my
lunchhour that Bush would be playing Top of the Pops in Cologne, Germany.
So I called TOTP if they still had tickets for it.
They did, but I had to be there at 17:00, so I asked my boss if I could have
the rest of the day of. I was able to leave there at 13:00. I had to catch a
train at 13:26. I just barely made it.
After I got off the train I got a cab to go to my brother's work because he
took my car that day. I was there by 14:30. Then I went home to change my
clothes.
Normally it's a 1.5 hour drive to Cologne from my home.
I left at 15:00 and grabbed some McDonalds on the way. I was there by 16:10
(yes, I know, I speeded).
Finally I was there.
There were about 50 people there. On the show it always looks more.
In the studio nothing was allowed. No cell phone, no cameras, no coats, no
bags, nothing at all.
As we entered the studio I immediatly saw Robin's drumkit (duh, the only
drumkit there).
But before Bush came out there was first an other group. Really stupid
though. It was some chick playbacking her song and four dancers around her.
After each taping the producer would say if it was good or if it had to be
done again. They had to do it three times to get it right.

But then it was finally time for BUSH !!!!!!
They came on stage and started right away with "The people that we love". I
was only three steps away from them. I let my hair loose and just sang
along. I will probably look very stupid on TV. But they were great. I can't
wait to see a full concert. Nigel and Dave really seemed to be enjoying
themselves.
After they finished the song the procuder said that it was perfect and
already Gavin started to leave and Robin got up from behind his drumkit. I
couldn't bear to let them leave, so I yelled "Agian!" Robin immediatly sat
down again and then after another "Again" the rest also picked up their
instruments. Some adjustment to the cameras were made. Then the producer
asked if all the girls in the audience could let their hair down, just like
me.
Then Bush played it again, it was just as great as the first time.
After that they all stood around Gavin and made an announcemement: Hi, were
Bush and this is our new single.
Then they left :(
But I did get Gavins guitarpick.
Then I thought I would leave too, so I maybe could meet them outside of the
studio, maybe even take a picture. No such luck, because nobody in the
audience was allowed to leave the studio until the taping of the whole show
was over. So I had to watch some other bands before I could go.
By the time I got outside, they were long gone of course. But I had such a
great time. Everybody should go and see them play live if they get the
chance. It's so energetic.

Sorry for such a long report on such a short performance, but I got so
excited again, I couldn't leave any detail out.

Go see BUSH !!!
