Summit Lighthouseâ Study Group of Manchester NH
Dear
Keepers of the Flame and Community Members,
For many years we have met on Elm
Street in Manchester. On the weekend of October 18th we will seal
this flame and take it with us in search of a new center. The McQuade building
is being renovated and turned into more expensive office space. We have been
given a one-month notice to clear out.
Over this past year, it has become
more difficult to maintain the group without significant support and
participation. For several years we have been going through a cycle where
participation would increase and then wane repeatedly. The increase did not
occur this year. That said, we still
have dedicated members who do want a group. We would like to take the moment of
this challenge to refocus the group – to really decide what we want to see and
what we are willing to do. For a time we will meet at members’ homes (likely in
Derry). Please call us if you want to be involved in the services. The schedule
and other details are being worked out and may fluctuate some.
We ask everyone for their input on
the group’s focus and for ideas as to where to meet more permanently. Those who
contribute a rent pledge, if it is possible, please continue and we will set it
aside for a new location (that may require a deposit). We will keep track of
the pledges in case we do not go this route and they can be returned.
On October 25th and 26th,
Reverends Ken and Bonita Frazier will be joining us along with members of the
Boston Study Group. This will likely take place in Derry. We will have a community meeting and Rev.
Ken Frazier will administer the sacraments of Baptism and First Communion for
several members. They would like to meet with as many people as possible and
really hear from us. We will send out further details on times and confirm the
location soon.
We hope to hear from you.
In Light and Peace
