Peanuts

|
Peanuts are a product of the dwarfing gene. Each parent must contribute the gene to produce a peanut. These two littermates are one day old. Note the tremendous difference in size, the bulgy eyes and on some peanuts, the back hindquarters do not look right. They are usually small and distorted, although this particular peanut has a normal back end. Peanuts do not have the ability to nurse. Even if you try to hand feed them their digestive systems are not able to absorb nutrients. They do not survive beyond three days. It is a fact of life when breeding any of the dwarf rabbits that you will get some peanuts.
