22:59 AEST Sat 19 Oct 2002 Bush sends message of support AFP - US President George W Bush has sent a video message of solidarity to Australia to the national day of mourning for the victims of the Bali bombings. Mr Bush took time out from his schedule in Springfield, Missouri, to declare the US would help Australia track down those responsible for the bomb attacks. "We'll be joining our friends in Australia in a day of mourning for the terrible tragedy that took place," Mr Bush said in Springfield. "We lost lives, they lost a lot of lives." In his message, Mr Bush said Americans remembered the support of Australia after September 11. "Together we face an enemy which does not value innocent life," Mr Bush said. "And if any enemy which tries to terrorise the free world into inaction, they will fail. "Together we will hunt down the killers so that there is justice in the world. "Together we will fight terror so as to keep the peace and make the world more free. "America and Australia are close friends. We value our friendship. "We remember so well after September the 11th 2001 your prayers, your sympathy, your strong support, and we will never forget it. "On this sad day, on this day of mourning, America is with your in spirit. "May God bless the victims and their families. "May God heal the injured, and may God continue to bless Australia."
