remix contest at decibel.dj
swiss bands and artists make available their source tracks for remixing at decibel.dj! remixes can be streamed from the site, and you can give your votes. check out two junglist takes by vehikel's own piquet on the ganglords' reggae tune 'bonx it pon me'.

what's up at vehikel in 2006?
the label will finally see its first official releases; there might be three or four of them. piquet's album 'wilful confusion' has been mastered by rainer rütimann; the track list will be slightly updated and now feature the tune 'lost in nature' instead of 'nightshit revisit'. the album will appear in spring; one or two maxis with the tunes 'a seed' and 'fake plastic breasts' plus remixes will be released by piquet later this year. Also we're proud to announce the first e.p. by alpha genda in the second half of the year. and then there's a chance we will release something by s.c.o.t.u.
there will be dj sets with the vehikel dj's all through the year. a new vehikel member, hausemann, will present himself on these pages soon.
meanwhile, check the sounds section for demo versions of 'fake plastic breasts' by piquet.

2 new tunes in sounds section
you can download now two unmastered brand new demo tracks by piquet, one being an ebm tune with distorted vocals called 'does she know i like it?', the other one being an electro dancfloor tune going berserk with the working title koller killer (rewind). piquet is producing more new stuff, amongst that a cover of rave classic e-vapor-8 by altern8.

over 1'000 visitors to audiostreet.net/piquet in the first four months
an update just to let you know we keep things going... piquet has had 1'032 visitors on his page on audiostreet.net during the first four months. meanwhile, he is producing his first new material since august, again in an electro pop way. some of this will appear on his second album. yet, the first one, 'wilful confusion' awaits release. the mastering is almost done, and the artwork is now being made by martina lenzin in hamburg. release of the album together with the 12" 'a seed' scheduled for february 2006 through namskeio in switzerland.
piquet is the only vehikel records artist with releases scheduled for the next months. alpha genda is recording, but not ready for release (demos on request); secret center of the universe are on a short term hiatus; t-shit lacks inspiration.
people who would like to support vehikel records with advice and helping hands and thereby broaden vehikel's roaster to include new acts and knock out more new releases, are welcome to get in touch.

piquet mastering at klangfaktur
rainer rütimann at the klangfaktur studio in aarau, switzerland, is now doing the mastering of piquet's debut album (wilful confusion) and maxi (a seed). at the same place vocal tracks for the second album are going to be recorded. but only after the official release of 'wilful confusion' via namskeio - expect this to happen around february 06.

piquet takes number 1 on audiostreet.net darkwave chart
vehikel records proudly take notice of their artist piquet climbing the charts of mp3-host audiostreet.net with three tunes simultaneously. 'it's all about (electro)' is listed in the darkwave chart, where it has climbed the ranks up to number 1 as of august 7th 2005; the same tune also ranks as number 3 on the industrial chart.
'the beat that is going to free mankind' debuted on number 3 of the rave/oldskool chart and now lies on position 2 there, while it has also been on number 16 of the techno chart (having dropped to 28 by now). 'a genetically manipulated seed' holds number 2 on the acid chart and position 30 on the techno chart.

piquet virtually plugs in the guitar
new piquet tracks 'lost in nature' (2 mixes) refer to the name of a local drum'n'bass open air, but musically follow totally different, new directions for piquet, as they feature washes of distorted guitar - not sampled, but recorded, yet unconventionally: it's actually an acoustic guitar recorded onto a dictaphone (which gives it a nice pre-distortion), and from there copied via md to laptop, where it was treated with distortion and effects. the second version that has been arranged is a very melancholic yet chilled dub tune (at 88 bpm) probably to be found on piquet's second album (of which it would be the third track completed as a demo version).

vehikel records to be distributed by namskeio in switzerland
piquet's album 'wilful confusion' will be the first vehikel album to receive a full release... finally! and probably even before that, a vinyl maxi including the tune 'a seed' will be available. namskeio, a trusted indie distributor from lausanne, has decided to include the album and maxi into their programme. the first releases should be around at the end of the year, new (vocal oriented) material will appear in 2006.
vehikel records shall be the home for piquet in switzerland only; we are now contacting labels in the u.k., germany, france, belgium, the netherlands, norway, sweden, the u.s., canada, and more for licensing. labels from anywhere are welcome to contact us.
