vehikel records comments on the releases referring to the vehikel discography piquet - wilful confusion (june 2006) vehia001c the ten tracks of 'wilful confusion' have elements of breakbeat, acid, electro, and dub, but not of all of the sounds are as easy to categorize. the idea behind the music was to go back to a point in music history when creativity was high and styles were changing quickly, and to develop some of these phenomenons of time into unexplored directions. the result is like music from a future that has never happened until now, that it already has a retro feel to it. order free promo copy. buy from cdbaby.com. piquet - tsukunft / a seed (unreleased) vehimxx1v 'tsukunft' is an acidline developping from deep to devastating within six minutes, being pushed by a wicked bassknock / breakbeat combination. 'a seed'... well, pronounce the title and you know the score. this track was taken from the album 'wilful confuison' as a taster, in combination with the brand new remix 'a genetically manipulated seed', which jumps from thumping acid bass to rampant breaks. sirke - pamet mani velreiz (may 2004) vehimxx1c sirke, a jazzy band from riga, latvia, started their second remix project in 2004. the prospected remix album on tornis records hasn't appeared yet, but this maxi with piquet's remixes of 'pamet mani velreiz' has seen at least a little bit of the light of the day. the club mix, which is very different from the original, has made it onto the piquet album 'wilful confusion'. sun squad - aristocratia / polarity joke (may 2004) >>sun squad are now alpha genda vehimxx2c enter a vocalist. two tunes with a queer synth pop appeal and a straight punk attitude appear on this maxi as tasters for the forthcoming asx 113x album 'darkpopromantic'. both are featured in their original versions, which sound much more electro than the album versions. in addition, both tunes have been given the remix treats by piquet, who alternately operates on dub and industrial basis. which makes for a strong quartet of tunes. piquet - confused by culture (june 2004) vehimxx3c finally piquet manages to find the balance between noisy, bouncy techno and pure minimalist ambient, taking yet another chance and incorporating shoegaze-wall of sound-type guitars into this spherical monster of a tune. the four mixes display ambient, dub, electro, breaks, rave, and indie elements. version 3.dub actually sounds like a completely different tune and could have been chosen as the lead track as well. you can also contact us for the following demo cds alpha genda - darkpopromantic any demos by subyouth and t-shit sounds discography home updated june 06 |
