Adult Track & Field
Track & Field (T & F) for adults, 19 years of age and up, has been available in the Hampton Roads area since the 1970s. Adults compete in the Mid-Atlantic Wheelchair Games and the Maryland Wheelchair Games. If they qualify, they may also compete nationally in the U.S. National Wheelchair Games. Traditionally, participation in this sport fluctuates annually due to the Paralympics. Adults may travel to these regional games and often find no one of equal abilities to compete against, except on those years of Paralympic qualification. For this reason, many local athletes obstain from participating in T & F. That is not to say that there is not a program available for adults. Our T & F program runs in conjunction with the youth T & F and practices are from March to July at Larkspur Middle School (Tues & Thurs @ 5:30 pm)
