Hanwei uses his photography talent for a good cause

 

 

The Singapore Environment Council invited Hanwei, Gurmit Singh and newcomer Li Su Hui to exhibit their photos. All those invited were  allowed to show only one photo but the organiser was so impressed by Hanwei's photographic skills that they specifically allow him to show two of his master pieces

 

P/S The photos were auctioned off and the proceeds has been channelled to the funds for volunteers in environmental conservation work

Hanwei is "Chen San Zu" ie "Mr Three Teams"

The title of "Chen San Zu" goes to Hanwei recently. He is filming with  3 drama production teams all at the same time. The " i-entertainment team" caught him for a short interview which was telecast on 6 Jan. Some highlights:

-  He didn't end up with so many shows because of his Best Actor award. They were given to him even  before he won. 

-  He finds backstage work more stressful than front stage work but given the chance he would still want to do some backstage work. He said he also hopes to be a director.

-  To him to be able to enjoy his work is more important than being an "Ah Ge". He never thought of himself as one, though his friends call him "Wei Ge" (Wei Ge is the Chinese name for "Viagra").

-  Asked to describe himself, he said he looks firm on the outside but he is very soft-hearted. He said  that this is his weak point or perhaps good point. All the people who know him are aware of this. ( Agree?)

Asia TV Awards News!

Hanwei didn't win the Best Actor Award  but he received special commendation. Being nominated is already an  honour, considering he was short-listed from among the best in the region and is the only Ch 8 actor besides Shaoguang who ever got short-listed. (16 DEC 01)

Hanwei in Johor Bahru for Hari Raya Open House and Performance

He' ll  appear at the Hari Raya Open House in Johor Bahru on 22Dec.

Location: Dataran Bandaraya,  open field opposite the Hyatt Regency Hotel. Five  minutes' drive from the Causeway customs checkpoint

Time: 10am to 4 pm. Don't know what time he'll be there

How to get there: Free shuttle bus service from KTM Station and Larkin Stadium  and major hotels in JB

What to expect: Free food and drinks plus Hanwei , Malaysian artistes & Zhang Ti (Taiwan)

 President Star Charity Show (2nd Sep)

Hanwei was in the bowling contest. As a newbie he did very well - missing by a pin in the first round and striking all pins in the second round. From the donation figures published in Shin Min, this team drew in the highest amount of donations for the men (aside from the finale tug-of war).
(P/S Hanwei was originally to appear in the sotong ball  game but was not free for the rehearsals and changed to the bowling contest. He was supposed to be on leave on that night but came back)

 Hanwei's Birthday 

Close Encounter with Hanwei 

Some fans met Hanwei to ask about his birthday plans few days ago. Though he was about to go  home after a long day's  filming, he stayed on to chat patiently with them. They were surprised he could recognize their faces and remember the names of the website regulars. In the words of a fan, he treated them "like old friends" , answering all their questions sincerely even though he has every right not to. Another big surprise was that he actually  spoke fluent English throughout. (Hanwei is Chinese-ed, his second language is Malay).

This is what he has to say about his birthday plans:

-  He's actually on leave till next month. He?ll be returning to JB to celebrate his birthday with his family. 

-  He sends his regards to all his fans and website visitors. 

Well, we should be happy that he can celebrate his birthday with his dear ones this year!
