Q: What does "Kanthadai" stand for?

A: The word "Kanthadai" doesn't mean anything... at least in tamil!!!  But over the years, it has evolved to signify classy, elegant & successful people!!! seriously. If you don't agree with me, read the disclaimer notice.

Q: Where are "Kanthadai"s from?

A:  I have heard lots of people telling me that "Kanthadai" is some remote village in Tamil Nadu (near Kancheepuram???). But as far as I know, even my great-grandfather is not from there. So your guess is as good as mine.

Q: Are all "Kanthadai"s related somehow?

A: I don't think so.... but i guess, we are all some kinda tamil brahmins.

Q: Why do most of the family members have different last names?

A: See, in Tamil Nadu, we have this weird custom of using dad's first name as our last names. And for married girls, it is usually the first name of their spouses. I know, it is complicated & kludgy. And so is life.... So, move on.

Q: What is the purpose behind this webpage?
