One should note that each clubs procedures and responsibilities for each role may vary slightly. The General Evaluator (GE) role at Sundial Toastmasters is similar to the other evaluator roles except that everything that was not yet evaluated or was missed and you deem as important should be evaluated. This is a great role to truely work on ones listening skills. This role is a fundamental role in why we all joined toastmasters. We all like to hear what areas we are doing well in and which areas we need to improve. This report is the lifeblood of the club because it is the feedback on the meeting itself and there are opportunities to improve this always. One interesting aspect is to always look at this role through the eyes of a guest. The General Evaluator Before the Meeting: Prepare for the meeting by identifying the what you feel is important to running of the meeting. Make sure the grammarian provides a word of the day to the Toastmaster to be included on the Agenda. During the Meeting: Observe the whole meeting. Arrive early and observe the SAA and TM in their preparation for the meeting. Observe the meeting itself. Present your report back to the club when called upon by the Toastmaster. Call upon your helpers for their reports: Timer, Grammarian, and Ah Counter. In your conclusion request all present to fill out their chits and vote for today's best evaluator and call the SAA back to the lectern. |
