DESPERATELY
`You hold me,
so strong,
Yet, I'm still so blind.
The Heavens sweep
my silent tears
as the clouds
block the blazing sun.
The perspiration falls
all around me,
burying me in a pool.
Suddenly,
the pool gets larger.
Frozen limbs,
unmoving,
. . . gasping for air . . .
so desperately.
Calling your name
to no avail.
But,
it's too late.
The heavens dissappear
along with the passing
clouds.
All I see,
is darkness now.
The mud engulfs my feet,
as I stand alone in
time.
Watching and waiting,
I start to cry
uncontrollably
as if there's no tomorrow.
Red spots brighten before my
eyes,
as I smell a familiar stench,
a smell of death lurking
just above.
A shadow appears
and harshly whispers my
name,
once, twice and even a third time.
I desperately call for you
and reach for you,
you just won't
answer.
