FALL
Fall foliage is spectacular in the Catskills! Take a special fall foliage ride and drive the scenic back roads and see how the locals celebrate the Fall.
In Grahamsville there is the Great Pumpkin Party the first weekend in October. May people dress up their houses to fit the fall mood.
Many local churches close by also have Corn Roasts, Harvest Bazaars and Flea Markets.
You can pick out your own pumpkin at a local farm or go to an orchard and pick a bag of apples. The local fruit stands offer their bountiful harvests.
A little further away from Sundown Country Retreat (about 45 ,minutes) in Windham they celebrate two fairs. The end of September is their Autumn Fair kicking off the foliage season with local flavor abounding in food, antique shows, rides, time arts, skills and machinery. They hold a second festival in October with a ride to the top of Windham Mountain, making scarecrows, eat great food and listen to music in the beautiful outdoor setting.
At Hunter Mountain, the ultimate of fall festivals, the first two weekends in October - is the Octoberfest! There will be sky rides and plenty to do.
Tour the area, go antiquing, hiking or whatever you decide! But enjoy the beautiful fall foliage.
