Old Business
Those
members planning to go to Renfro Valley in October should check the website for
the shows during the weekend of 10-12.
Please let Becky Colbert know so she can get the show tickets as a group.
She needs this information by September
8.
Since
a number of members are not planning to go to Renfro Valley, there was
discussion of having an additional campout during the month of October. Dave Bump made a motion that we camp at
Starve Hollow on October 2-4. Mary Brown
seconded the motion. The motion was
approved. If we cannot get sites, it was
agreed that Hardy Lake would be our second choice.
New Business
Tom
McNulty read a thank you for the memorial gift and thoughts and prayers for
Keith Colbert’s mother.
We
welcomed a visitor, Mel Sodergren from Louisville, KY. We hope he can camp with us again.
During
the winter, President Tom McNulty received a list of members from Sunny
Travelers RV Club. Many of those on the
list were either no longer members or never were members. After purging the list, he contacted Sunny
Travelers with the correct membership.
Tom
led a discussion on club membership requirements. During the Florida Luncheon, he had
conversations with several club presidents about their practices. Some do not require membership in the Sunny
Travelers organization. Also, some allow
owners of Some Other Brands to camp with the clubs. Tom asked the membership coordinator at Sunny
Travelers about the current rules. He
was advised that a SunnyBrook owner must belong to the National Organization to
be eligible to take Sunny Travelers tours and participate in activities with
the exception that they may attend one rally before they join. However, they may participate in local club’s
activities without joining the national.
Owners of a “SOB” cannot vote or participate in meetings. The discussion continued as to the advantages
of membership in Sunny Travelers and the possibility of our allowing Associate Members. All of the Sunny Memories members will be
allowed to give input before any decision is made.
President Tom has called for an Executive Officers meeting at the June campout at Holt’s campground. All present officers and all past presidents are invited to participate. If any of the members have something that they would like to have brought up at the Executive Meeting, please get the information to Tom or one of the other officers, including any Past Presidents it will be brought out at the meeting.
We
all thanked Tom for preparing the delicious deep fried turkey for our Saturday
pitch-in. It was suggested that we might
ask him to do this again.
At
this time those persons planning to attend the International rally in Iowa are:
Hobbs, Nelsons Browns and Hurst.
It
was decided by all to eat out for the Saturday meal next month.
We
have received no door prizes from Customers First this year.
Russel
Brown made motion that we adjourn the meeting and Dave Bump seconded it. Motion was carried.
Keith
Colbert led the group in a closing prayer.
