Old Business
President Dave Bump asked for a report from the Anniversary Committee. Tom McNulty reported that he had put together an invitation and a list of former Sunny Memories members. He asked that we look over both and gives him any comments on either one. Jean Rutter made a motion that we invite owners at Customers First and that we pay for their meals. Dan Johnson seconded the motion and the motion was carried.
Everyone attending the International Rally should let Tom McNulty know their arrival day so he can find a time and place to rendezvous. He would like to leave the rendezvous point by 2:00pm. In the Sunny Times, they mentioned at all attendees come to the Rally with empty waste tanks. A list of places with dump stations in the area was given.
New Business
Judy McNulty volunteered to provide the craft project for June.
Dan Johnson passed out a list of the carnival games planned for Thursday, July 2 from 2:00pm to 4:00pm. There will be two shifts. The first shift will set up the games and work one hour and the second shift will work the next hour and help tear down the games. Patty Johnson said that everyone playing the games will receive a prize. Our club members along with other Sunny Travelers members from our area will be responsible for running these games.
Dan also wanted some input concerning the meal for the Greasy Hat gathering. The choices were Half of a chicken with 2 sides for $7, ¼ of a chicken with 2 sides for $5 or Pulled Pork sandwich with 2 sides for $5. The men decided that the Pulled Pork sandwich with cole slaw and baked beans would be great.
Several members indicated they had complications making reservations for the October campout at Patoka Lake. President Dave Bump asked Charlie Hurst to go to the park and talk to someone about our situation. Charlie agreed to check on this problem.
Information on the Good Sams rally to be held in Louisville, KY next year was passed around.
Our campout in June at Starve Hollow will be hosted by Bob and Jean Rutter. Becky Colbert made a motion that we have a regular old fashion pitch-in on Saturday evening. Judy McNulty seconded the motion and the motion was carried.
Since there was no further business the President adjourned the meeting. Keith Colbert gave the closing prayer. Vickie and Charlie Hurst won the door prize.
Joy’s Notes
This campout proved that you just have to go with the weather during the springtime. All of the campers arrived on Thursday, which proved to be a nice day. We were able to set up, do some exploring of the area and have a great campfire in the evening.
Friday started with possibilities of rain, so our golfers went out early for their game. Some people went to the Pioneer Village and dodged school field trips crowds. As the day went on the rain was getting closer to the area. Finally we decided to swap the Hospitality to Saturday evening after the meeting and eat at the Inn this night. It proved to the best solution.
Saturday morning was sunny and a bit cool, but the golfer splayed another game on a soggy course. The women made bird feeders during the morning. After lunch we had a rousing corn hole tournament and the winners were Dave and Joy Bump. We were glad to see the McNultys, the Hursts and Packs arrive in time for our meeting.
Most of us were up early Sunday morning and were heading for home since it was Mothers Day.
