There was further discussion about a special celebration
of the 10th Anniversary of the founding of Sunny Memories. Dave Bump suggested a campout with family and
friends. Jean Rutter suggested a campout
in Goshen at the county fairgrounds. No
decision was made at this time. * See
Joy’s notes below for more details.

us in a closing prayer.
Joy’
Notes
Upon hearing about the various adventures and weather
problems after last month’s campout, we are never sure what might happen the
next month. Luckily the weather
cooperated and we had cool, but sunny weather.
On Friday our foursome of golfers went to a nearby golf
course and played great round of golf.
The rest of our group decided to help Judy McNulty and Pat Judd
celebrate their birthdays and Vickie and Charlie Hurst their anniversary. We ate at Brock’s in Brownstown. One of the topics of conversation was centered
on Gene Brooks’ hiking adventure. Late
Thursday afternoon Gene decided to go on a hike. When he did not return after dark, everyone
became concerned. According to Gene he
was also concerned and he called back to Jean Ann on his cell phone to let her
know which trail he was hiking. He found
himself a big stick in case any critters bothered him. Jean Ann contacted the park rangers and they
called Gene. It did not take long for
the rangers to locate him, so all turned out okay.
Going back to the park after lunch, most of us stopped at
a farm market to purchase pumpkins, Indian corn, and apples. The Brooks hosted a great Hospitality and of
course we all showed our appreciation by eating it.
Saturday was a great day to be outside. During the afternoon, we had some rousing
games of corn hole and ladder jacks. Our
soup and salad dinner proved that our clubs has some very good cooks. If anyone went hungry, it was their own
fault. We had a roaring fire and good
conversation during the evening.
Most of us were not in a hurry to leave on Sunday
morning. For many of us Snowbirds this
will be our last campout together this year.
* New President Dave Bump appointed Tom McNulty
to head a committee for the 10th Anniversary celebration. Jean Rutter and Keith Colbert will also be on
the committee. Keith is checking into a
conference center to hold a celebration in September.
