Keith Colbert
and Tom McNulty will be the Nominating Committee for this year. Dave Bump agreed to be President for
2010. Hayward Pack said he would not be Vice
President, so we need a new Vice President, Secretary and Treasurer.
Dave Bump
requested that members e-mail him their 3 favorite campgrounds for 2010 in
order of preference. Keith and Tom would
like to receive suggestions for any extended trips. It was suggested that the longer trip be
taken Monday – Friday when the campgrounds are not so crowded.
We still have
5 chairs that were given to the club from Customers First. Judy McNulty made the motion that we use the
4 ordinary chairs as door prizes next year and possibly raffling the better
chair if money is needed for the club.

Joy Notes
When Dave and
I arrived at the campground on Wednesday, we were the only ones in our
area. By the time we had finished
setting up and had lunch, others began to arrive. By dinner time, there were six campers in the
area, so we decided it was time for a campfire.
During the
night it was a bit cool and we could feel a touch of fall in the air. After everyone was up for the day, we discussed
having our evening meal at Lourin’s Restaurant in Commiskey, IN. The
food is good and the atmosphere is really down-home. Three more units pulled in during the day, so
a lot of good conversations. The
Johnsons did not arrive until almost dark, so they had lots of help getting
into their site.
Friday
morning was also a bit cool, but with plenty of sunshine. Five golfers went out for a round of
golf. The rest of the group decided to
visit Stream Cliff Herb Farm. The Farm
has a lovely walk- through garden, a tea room, greenhouses and a winery. We enjoyed a great lunch in the tea
room. Upon arrival back at the
campground we discovered more campers had arrived. Dan and Patty furnished a great
Hospitality. We ended the day with a
large circle around the campfire.
Saturday
morning was another super day. We truck
pooled to Wooded Glen Retreat and Conference Center located at Henryville, IN for
our 10th Anniversary luncheon.
This is located in very hilly wooded area with lovely accommodations. It was a very relaxed lunch and time to
explore the place. Next, we all drove to
Cathedral Gardens a 52 acre scenic place with lakes and thousands of beautiful planting
and fountains. It proved to be a very
enjoyable day and Kudos to the committee.
Later in the afternoon, Dan Adams came by the campground for a
visit. We were all glad to Dan. During our campfire, Julie and Tim Peoples
visited us. It was great to see them
after a number of years.
Sunday
morning found many of us standing around the campfire still talking about the
great weekend we just experienced. No
one seemed to be in a hurry to leave.

Also, please,

suggested and will forward this to all members for review before the next
meeting.
