Long and restless nights
Waiting for you to return
And make me happy
By your sweet sweet words.
I'd wait for days
Glued to my screen
Scared I'd miss the chance
That you'd be seen.
Countless nights went by
That you remained away.
The longer the more I cried
As I remembered the old days.
Your love had changed.
No longer there for me.
I vanished from your heart
Where another would be.
Day in and day out
You ran through my thoughts
And I cried more
As the truth was caught.
Memories of our past
Floated into my head
How I'd believe
Every word you said.
You didn't do much
But I still thought you cared.
You were busy
So how could you be there?
The answer came simple.
True love is a bright light
That always finds a way
Through the darkest night.
Your light was dim
And you didn't try hard.
I trusted in you-
A trust you've scarred.
I never wanted it to end
But now I know I must
Because I can't love someone
Who I can't trust.
