Outskirts
Exit through the vent into the alley. You will see a
group of chots waiting there. To your left is a
metal ramp, leading over into an area occupied
by light cops. There is no way to win this battle -
cops and chots will continue returning to replace
their fallen comrades, so you'll just have get out
of this area as quickly as you can.
Powering the Lift
Run up the ramp to get the cops firing at you, then
run back. The cops will follow you, and the fighting
will commence. Possess a cop and run over the
ramp. Run to your left. You'll see a console behind
a glass barrier. Shoot the barrier and activate the
console. This will remove the laser wall at the
opposite side of the alley.
Run back up the ramp and down the alley. Whether you are in a cop or a
chot, you most likely must do some fighting at the opposite end. Once
the coast is clear, run up the stairs behind the now-deactivated laser
wall. At the top is a plasma barrier to the right and a detonator on a crate
to the left. Activate the detonator and run for cover.
When the crate explodes, it should destroy the
glass window above the plasma barrier. If it
doesn't, you must climb the barrels and shoot the
window. Jump through the window into the control
room - a pak will be useful to make the jump.
The Commander's Quarters
You're now in a room with a stack of crates and
some consoles. Only a commander can activate
the consoles, so ignore them for now. Shoot the
stack of crates - the explosion will destroy the
grate blocking a vent near the ceiling. Drop your
weapon, then climb the crates and go through the
vent.
You'll emerge on a high rafter. Below you, you'll see a ledge next to
some windows. Depossess your host and glide down to the ledge.
Through one of the windows, you'll see a
commander taking a shower. Wait until she is
finished, at which point she will open the other
window. Fly through the window and possess her.
Leave the room through the unlocked door. You'll
see a few other commanders standing around. Go
through the opposite door and up the stairs.
You're now back in the room with the consoles.
Activate either one to access the offensive bot. Walk near the bot to
activate it. Go back down the stairs, across the commander room, and
up the other staircase. Open the door and get ready to fight some chots.
Chot Occupation
A few chots will begin heading down the street
toward you. You and the bot should deal with them
easily. Don't forget that the commander carries
distortion grenades, which can buy you some time
in a heavy firefight.
Once the chots are out of your way, go through the
large door at the end of the street. You'll emerge on a large, outdoor dais.
In the center is a turret console. Activate it. At this point, you'll be
confronted. The ships flying around aren't your problem - you must deal
with the manned turrets on the building opposite. Unfortunately, they are
shielded, so you can't directly damage them.
The control room has some weapons dispensers,
a console near the barrier, and a console in the
back room. Activate the latter console to restore
power to the lift in the center of the alley. Use the
weapons dispensers to get yourself a bazooka or
other heavy armament - it will be helpful in the next
area.
Use the console near the plasma barrier to disable it, then run back into
the alley. The lift is near the vent you came through when you entered
this sector. Get on the lift and ride it up. Go through the door.
Instead, aim at the supports beneath the
platforms. Destroying these will cause the turret
platforms to crumble away. Once they are gone,
the plasma barrier to the next section will be
removed. Deactivate the turret, then go through
the door into the next room.
The next room is occupied by a medium cop and a
heavy cop. Attack them - they'll only cause you
trouble. There are also some ammo boxes and
grenades lying around and another offensive bot in
the truck. You must destroy the crates to get to the
bot. Pick up what you need, then activate the console to unlock the door.
Open the door. There are some chots waiting in
ambush in this alley. It is highly recommended that
you take this opportunity to possess one - it will
make the next area much easier. After the battle is
over, shoot the crates to destroy the rubbish
blocking the gate. Open the gate and go through.
If you have possessed a chot, you can just stroll
through this area with no conflict. If you haven't, you have a tough fire
fight ahead. There's a few chots with bazookas in strategic locations as
well as a few in shielded posts. If you must fight, take cover behind the
stack of crates near the door and snipe those chots you can hit from
there. You'll have an easier time with the remaining ones if you jump up
the crates and onto the walkway that runs along the top of the area.
Once the area is safe, proceed to the gate on the
opposite wall and go through.
Chots, Cops, and Fighting in the Streets
You'll emerge on a street occupied by chots. A few
straggling policemen will wander in occasionally
through the large door. You'll need to possess one
of these. If the chots prove overwhelming, keep
possessing them until they wipe each other out. Make sure they see you
when possessing them - you'll stay safe until the body dies, and then you
can quickly possess another one. Once the chot threat is gone, possess
a cop and step on the security scanner.
This scanner will open the door and let you into
the compound. In the compound, follow the
walkway to the elevator. Get in and activate it.
Unfortunately, it will break down during its ascent.
You must get a repairman.
You'll have to time this part well, or the patrolling
cops will open fire. Use the zoom mode to watch
the cops' patrol routes
before jumping down and
possessing the worker next
to the elevator. Once the
coast is clear, and you're
safely in the repairman
(there's another at the far
end of the walkway, just in
case the nearer one gets killed), drop into the space below the elevator.
Use the gears to fix the elevator, then climb up and back into the
elevator. Resume your trip up.
You'll come out in a room
patrolled by some medium
cops. Watch their patrol
routes and possess one
when it's safe. There's a
large door to the left and a
hallway to the right. Go through the door. Once
again, the chots and the police will be fighting.
Possess the light cop with the bazooka on the walkway, then head back
into the compound.
Go down the hallway. You'll see an area blocked by a laser barrier. Shoot
the control panel on the wall to deactivate the barrier. Unfortunately, you
can't go any further until you restore power. You must get to the sewers.
Turn around and go down the steps into the tank bay, then go through
the door into the war-torn streets.
