Former Led Zeppelin bassist Jones and Attractions skinsman Pete Thomas frame the bottom end, while vocal iconoclast Galas' bloodcurdling shrieks and Gypsy moans wreak havoc with the rest of the sound spectrum. The gem of this often vexing set is the opening track, 'Skotoseme'--flamenco bass and wounded lover's wails swirl into noir ruminations and a menacing ostinato, with heavy, Zeppish breaks. For the faint-hearted, there's also a surprisingly straight cover of 'Dark End Of The Street.'
