Really a nice recording, though there are some rough spots. In the beginning it's sort of static-y, but you soon don't notice. It's not usually my favorite song, but that's an awesome "Tell The Truth". Keith Moon comes out for a silly introduction and bongos on "Why Does Love Got To Be So Sad". Clapton doesn't sing "Teach Me To By Your Woman", by the way. Marcy Levy does.

A perfect recording. Clapton is joined by Mark Knopfler on guitar. Despite this though, the show, in my opinion, isn't all that interesting. I think it may be two things -- the setlist and there's too many people on stage. It's just not raw enough. "Crossroads" is played with some fire, as is "Forever Man". "Wonderful Tonight" is kind of slow, but it's grows into a nice version.

A great 4-man show... excellent recording. This show was broadcast on US radio. "Bad Love" smokes. Clapton is wonderful throughout the show. "Old Love" is grand. An instrumental "Driftin' Blues" leads into "Crossroads".

A set of blues songs just like you like out of Clapton. Excellent recording, a bit raw. "Key To The Highway" is pretty. It's nice to hear "All Your Love" live. Johnnie Johnson plays great piano throughout. If anyone has the complete show, let me know.

Rambling On My Mind -Hideaway |
Another cool Royal Albert Hall recording. A much improvised "Standin' Round Crying" and a lengthy "Hideaway" show this concert was a good one. If anyone has the complete show, let me know.

A sort of noisy audience recording - but it gets better. "Kid Man Blues" has a cool groove, and is a highlight. This tour was a cool one, a history of the blues. Check out the setlist! I forget the name of the harmonica player, but he's cool. "Going Away Baby" is a beauty. "Reconsider Baby" is firy and passionate - Clapton at his best. I love this new version of "Crossroads" and "Sweet Home Chicago" blew me away.

Clapton went on a little jazz tour of Europe in 1997. The first two songs are smoking instrumentals. David Sanborn does a bunch of sweet sax solos (especially on the funky "Snakes" - when the whole band takes solos). I have no idea what most of these songs are - are they covers? How'd they get their titles? The only ones with vocals are "Going Down Slow" ("PILGRIM" version), "Third Degree", and "Layla" (yet another version - this time, mellow jazz). Not the clearest tape of all-time, but not bad.
