A messy recording makes this performance of the Elvis classic sound a little more off than it probably was.

Excellent audience recording, crystal clear, though a few dropouts. Beautiful show. There may be some slight generation loss, but it's negligable. There's a runnning commentary from the tapers - usually stuff like "Wow!" and "That was fucking cool." JPJ's slide guitar on "You Gotta Move" is a show-stopper. Eat your heart out, Jimmy Page! Galas singing and keyboards are greatly enhanced on this tape (compared to the LA show). "Let's Not Chat" - not on "THE SPORTING LIFE" album - is a highlight. "Last Man Down" is cut slightly at the end, as side one of the tape ends. You can hear someone asking the person with the recorder to stand up, but the tape continues on anyway! Bravo! "Hex" wanders a bit. And where's "Devils Rodeo"?

Not for the weekhearted, no sir! Of course the group is strong, but Galas is quite impressive, but definately takes some getting used to. I like her a lot, but she's not for everybody. "You Gotta Move" features Jones on lap steel slide guitar, and proves that he could've been the guitar God all along, if he had so chosen. "Devils Rodeo" is my favorite JPJ/DG song and also a highlight. You won't believe the encore!

Another excellent bootleg recording from "The Sporting Life" tour. The quieter, slower songs are the best part of this show - "Dark End of the Street", a tense "Let's Not Chat", "Baby's Insane". "Hex" is much calmer than usual. Normally it pounds the riff into your head, but this is a totally different feel.

Wow! Galas is completely possessed tonight! Her singing is much wilder than the other two "Sporting Life" shows I have. She's having a good time. It's the second-to-last night of the tour and the performance is pretty sharp, though noticeably different from the other two shows. The best performance of "You Gotta Move", a killer "Let's Not Chat", and the best, most focused "Hex". When "Hex is done right, it just pounds that riff into your brain, building and building, with no release - kind of frustrating, but I love it!
