PRE-ZEPPELIN

-You Better Run (2:29)
-Everybody's Gonna Say (2:13)
1967 with Band of Joy
-Hey Joe
-For What It's Worth
-Got To Find My Baby
solo stuff
-Our Song (2:36)
-I've Got A Secret (3:11)
-Long Time Coming (2:31)
The Band of Joy was very good. "Hey Joe" is cool, the guitarist does a good job. "For What It's Worth" is less folky than the original and more rock. "Got To Find My Baby" includes the lyrics "she sure make sweet honey" and lyrics from "Born Under A Bad Sign". All the solo songs are pretty darned cheesy and you can tell Robert Plant I said so. John Bonham plays on all the Band of Joy stuff and "I've Got A Secret" and "Long Time Coming".

POST-ZEPPELIN

12/4/83 with Robert Plant, Colston Hall, Bristol, England (5 min)
-Little Sister
A messy recording makes this performance of the Elvis classic sound a little more off than it probably was.

-Roll Roll Roll
-The Young Ones
-Save The Last Dance For Me
-Can't Be So Bad
-Great Balls Of Fire
-Little Sister
A cool performance of many classics at a benefit show for a blinded policeman. The band hadn't rehearsed much (they admit), so there are a few goof-ups ("Georgia On My Mind"). Before each song, Plant gives a little music history lesson, showing his wide knowledge and enjoyment for these songs. Excellent quality. I really enjoy listening to Plant sing these songs he loves.

-Promised Land
-What Is And What Should Never Be

-Whole Lotta Love
A great-sounding show, though it's a bit uninteresting. Just look at the setlist: "Bluebird" is an old Buffalo Springfield folk song. It's followed by old folk song, "If I Were A Carpenter" which is followed by another old folk song, "Going To California". The whole show is either from "Zep II" or is Plant's less exciting solo stuff. "Bluebird" is a highlight, along with "Promised Land". "The Concert Files" says that "Tall Cool One"starts the show, "Thank You" comes after "29 Palms", and it doesn't mention "Going To California". I don't know if my tape is missing stuff, or the book is wrong. Michael Lee is the drummer and kicks ass.

-interview
-29 Palms
   Hot Dog
-Thank You
Before the first song, an interviewer asks Plant about "29 Palms" and songwriting. Plant calls the song "kitsch... and a very funny song." Then during the concert version, he sings the opening lines of "Hot Dog". Part of this show was aired on Dutch radio, but I don't know if this was all of that airing, or just some of it.
