Kung-Fu Master Overview
Label Description
But before you come eye to eye with the evil
one, you must use all your martial arts skills
and quick wit to conquer an army of demons,
dragons, henchmen, knife-throwers and
fighting acrobats.
Each floor holds different dangers. Defeat
all the enemies to reach the top level. There
you'll have to battle the mighty wizard to rescue
the princess. But work fast! Your princess is
hopelessly fearing for her life and yours.
My experience
It appears that running towards opponents slows them down while the background scrolls... I don't generally have a problem with the amount of time for each level... It is somewhat challenging, but highly agrivating. It's frustrating when an enemy runs up to grab you and your power starts to decrease... your kicks and screams are rather feeble at times. All of your reactions, after you are grabbed, look as though they pass through the other character or are magically avoided. And all the while, your health depleats!
Now, this game is made by ABSOLUTE. They generally have a larger format for their boxed 7800 games. For this title, I found a "regular" or small sized box. Other 7800 Kung-Fu Master games, unboxed, generally have a manual that's bigger than the boxed one I now hold. The graphics on the box also look different. I don't know if this is a earlier or later version of the game, but it's obviously different. If I hadn't paid so much for the boxed version, I'd open it just to see what the manual looks like... and see if the graphics are indeed different than the version I've played. Maybe they got rid of the aweful "grabbing effect" I spoke of earlier. I think the Nintendo version also had that problem, however. That's got to be the BIGGEST drawback to this game.
Hint number one: If you're highly aggrivated at the game play, try not attacking the knife throwers. Just avoid their knives. You can tell if you have to duck or jump before they throw. They hold the knife behind their head or behind their leg a second before each knife is thrown. Watch out when they get close to you though. The knives can come too quickly to avoid.
Hint number two: Try kicking most bosses. If that doesn't work punching is the best for one of the bosses. Kicking won't even effect that boss. I think he's on level three. I hope this helps all those that concerned.
